This is not a medical advice, I am not a doctor, obviously, and I am fully aware of the complexities of illnesses, diseases and aging.🙏🏻
These are just several published statistics that I find too fascinating and too important not to share!
It drives me mad that women are still in this position of being opposed to grow muscle because it’s “not feminine” (whatever that means!) and other people don’t like that look. 🙄
Knowing all the effects skeletal muscle has on our health, aging, our mobility, physical independence or how we’re able to fight diseases… placing looks BEFORE all that seems just absolutely ridiculous. 😤
It’s ok to look muscular in that dress or that tank top. Those muscles are supposed to be there! They’re there to help you stay healthy and protect you.
Let’s stop seeing muscle building as something that’s predominantly for men or athletes and start seeing it as something all people, of all genders and ages, should participate at, to help them stay healthy, grow healthy babies, fight stress and remain strong and physically independent, even at an older age.

In all seriousness — becoming the best version of yourself is not too complicated or time consuming. 4 basic barbell movements performed during 3 one hour workouts per week is all it takes to start.

Announcing our summer teen barbell camp! It is open to teens 14 years old and up.
This is a great opportunity for a young person to experience the physical and mental benefits of strength training in a supportive group environment.
Over 6 weeks in twice weekly sessions we will cover how to properly perform the primary barbell lifts, gym safety, and basic nutrition and recovery.
Camp starts Monday, June 14. Cost is $189 for the full 6 weeks.

Starting out the week on top. I am proud of our lifters who week after week put in the work to become the best versions of themselves in body and mind. Despite the obligations of work and family they are in the gym getting it done.
