Favour Onyah 🇳🇬 has just qualified for her first NCAA 400m final!!
The SE Louisiana athlete finished really strong in her prelim, coming through to finish 3rd in a time of 51.00s and book her spot in Saturday's final.
Chioma Nwachukwu finished 4th in the same heat, missing out with a time of 51.41s, while Esther Joseph posted 51.52s for 5th place in the first heat.

Tima Godbless 🇳🇬 storms into the final of the women's 100m at the NCAA Championships in Eugene, dropping her best performance of the year with a time of 11.08s (0.3)!
She finished 2nd in her heat behind Shenese Walker who ran 10.94s.
Godbless has struggled with injuries in 2026, having to sit out the indoor season completely as a result.

The first African team to play a game at the 2026 World Cup, South Africa, suffered a defeat in the opening game of the tournament, losing to Mexico.
South Africa got two red cards in the game, and had a mountain to climb, going behind quite early in the first half.

NCAA CHAMPION!!!
Chinecherem Prosper Nnamdi 🇳🇬 has just become the first Nigerian man to win a NCAA Javelin title, sending his implement out to a big first round throw of 82.26m!
He wins the NCAA Championships in Eugene ahead of Keyshawn Strachan who reached a best of 80.65m and Jack Larriviere with 77.91m.
Both of Nnamdi's two throws over 80 metres were good enough for the win.

Just 1 hour after his 100m win, Israel Okon 🇳🇬 easily won his 200m heat at the NCAA Championships in a time of 20.07s (0.1)!
He had enough time to toy with the field, easing up and galloping to the finish ahead of Eddie Nketia who posted 20.24s, followed by Jordan Urrutia in 20.36s.

Samuel Ogazi 🇳🇬 cruises through his 400m heat at the NCAA Championships in Eugene, winning in a time of 44.73s!.
He was the fastest qualifier for the final and will return to defend his NCAA title on Friday.
David Akhalu at his first NCAA Champs, finished 7th in his heat with a time of 46.21s.

Kanyinsola Ajayi 🇳🇬 drops a 9.94s (-1.1) to lead the men's 100m prelims at the NCAA Championships, despite a poor start!
He recovered nicely, coming through to take his heat in 9.94s, holding off LSU's Jaiden Reid who set an equal National Record of 9.95s for Cayman Islands.

Goalkeeper, Maduka Okoye, had a very good game in goal for the Super Eagles, making 5 remarkable saves.
Alex Iwobi made a record 100th appearance for the Super Eagles, since his debut for Nigeria in 2015.
Coach Eric Chelle has done a good job with the Super Eagles team so far 👏 .
