The mission: meet with local stakeholders, lay the foundation for AFC7 RDC, and prepare for upcoming continental competitions.

A key step in structuring and growing 7-a-side football across Central Africa.

AFC7 was in Kinshasa to advance the development of 7-a-Side Football in the DRC.

The visit included institutional meetings with sports authorities, discussions with the Congolese 7-a-Side Football Federation, and an assessment of local sports infrastructure. The goal: structure the discipline, launch national competitions, and prepare the Leopards for continental and world events.

AFC7 reaffirms its commitment to supporting the DRC in growing 7-a-Side Football nationwide.

7-a-Side Football World Cup – Honduras 2026 Preparation

Team Cameroon is building momentum!
On Tuesday in Yaoundé, the Lions secured two friendly wins against Mentalis: 3-1 and 3-0.

Starting Wednesday, May 20, the squad enters its internal training camp for final preparations before the World Cup.
Cameroon will compete in Group B alongside Brazil, Spain, and Canada.

AFC7 commends the commitment of the Cameroon team and wishes them success in the final phase of preparation. 💪🇨🇲

AFC7 Delegation Received by the Minister of Sports and Leisure of the Democratic Republic of the Congo

On Tuesday, May 19, 2026, the delegation of the African 7-a-Side Football Confederation – AFC7 was received in Kinshasa by His Excellency Mr. Didier Budimbu , Minister of Sports and Leisure of the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

This meeting forms part of the AFC7 Continental Tour , an initiative aimed at promoting and structuring 7-a-side football across Africa, with a focus on the DRC.

Key topics discussed included:
- The national strategy to develop and popularize 7-a-side football in the DRC
- Institutional support for the establishment and structuring of national leagues
- The role of sport in fostering social cohesion and advancing sports diplomacy

Minister Budimbu welcomed the initiative and reaffirmed the Congolese Government’s commitment to supporting emerging sports disciplines that create opportunities for youth.

AFC7 extends its appreciation to the Minister for his openness and engagement, and looks forward to the next steps of the tour in Central Africa.

Arriving in Kinshasa on Monday, the AFC7 delegation was received on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, by *His Excellency Mr. Didier Budimbu, Minister of Sports and Leisure of the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

The discussions focused on the launch of the AFC7 Continental Tour* in the DRC, the structuring of national leagues, and the development of 7-a-side football for Congolese youth.

The Minister reaffirmed the Government’s support for this initiative, which places sport at the heart of social cohesion and the DRC’s international outreach 🇨🇩⚽

THE AFRICAN FOOTBALL 7 CONFEDERATION MEETS WITH THE MINISTER OF SPORTS AND PHYSICAL EDUCATION

As part of its mission to Cameroon, a delegation from the African Football 7 Confederation (AFC7), led by its President, Mr. Jacques Bamga, was granted an audience on Friday, 24 April 2026, by the Minister of Sports and Physical Education, His Excellency Professor Narcisse Mouelle Kombi.

The AFC7 delegation comprised:
- Mr. Jacques Bamga, President of AFC7;
- Mr. Cyriack Boyomo, Secretary General of AFC7;
- Mr. Bernard Bassong, Director of Partnerships of AFC7;
- Members of the Executive Committee of the Cameroonian Football 7 Association (AFCA7).

The audience provided an opportunity for AFC7 to present its strategic vision for the development and promotion of Football 7 in Africa, and to discuss institutional support mechanisms required for the structuring of the said discipline in Cameroon.

AFC7 welcomes the warm reception extended to its delegation and acknowledges the commitment reaffirmed by the Government of Cameroon, through His Excellency the Minister, to support all initiatives promoting sport and youth development.

The African Football 7 Confederation expresses its sincere gratitude to His Excellency Professor Narcisse Mouelle Kombi for the quality of the discussions and his valuable guidance.

AFC7 PRESENTS ITS PROJECT TO COGE AND REAFFIRMS THE INDEPENDENCE OF 7-A-SIDE FOOTBALL FROM FIFA AND CAF

The African Confederation of 7-a-side Football (AFC7) held an institutional meeting on Wednesday with the Equatorial Guinean Olympic Committee (COGE) in Malabo, as part of its strategy to develop and strengthen the sport across the continent. The delegation was led by its president, Jacques Martinien Manga, who presented the key development priorities for 7-a-side football in Africa.

During the meeting, AFC7 outlined its implementation objectives in Equatorial Guinea, highlighting the gradual growth of the sport in various African countries. The meeting served as an initial coordination forum aimed at establishing a solid foundation for the official introduction of the sport into the national sporting landscape.

One of the central points discussed was the institutional nature of 7-a-side football. The delegation emphasized that the sport operates independently from traditional organizations such as FIFA and CAF. Reference was also made to the coexistence agreement signed in 2018, which supports the international development of 7-a-side football under the umbrella of IFA7.

For their part, representatives of the Equatorial Guinean Olympic Committee (COGE) welcomed the initiative and reaffirmed their commitment to promoting the Olympic movement in the country, with a focus on youth development through sport. The institution announced that the proposal would undergo internal review, while the AFC7 delegation is expected to continue meetings with government authorities in the coming days.

*OFFICIAL VISIT OF THE ACF7 PRESIDENT TO EQUATORIAL GUINEA FROM 15 TO 17 APRIL 2026

The African Confederation of 7-a-side Football (ACF7) announces that its President will undertake an official working visit to the Republic of Equatorial Guinea from 15 to 17 April 2026.

The visit forms part of ACF7’s continental program for the promotion and structuring of 7-a-side Football. Its primary objective is to strengthen institutional cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Sports, the Olympic Committee of Equatorial Guinea, and the Equatoguinean Football Federation (FEGUIFUT).

During his stay in Malabo, the ACF7 President will hold a series of meetings with key stakeholders in Equatoguinean sport. Discussions will focus on development policies for 7-a-side Football, governance, infrastructure assessment, and the potential hosting of future continental competitions.

A press briefing with national media will be held at the conclusion of the visit to present the outcomes of the mission and the joint roadmap for the 2026-2027 sporting season.

Through this mission, ACF7 reiterates its commitment to its statutory mandate: to promote, regulate, and develop 7-a-side Football across Africa in close collaboration with its Member Associations.

AFC7 VISIT TO CAMEROON: A STEP TOWARDS DEVELOPING FOOTBALL 7 IN AFRICA

The African Confederation of Football 7 (AFC7) is undertaking an official visit to Cameroon from April 23 to 25, 2026, in Yaoundé. This visit aims to strengthen ties between AFC7 and Cameroonian authorities, as well as with Football 7 stakeholders in Cameroon.

OBJECTIVES OF THE VISIT

- Strengthen ties with Football 7 stakeholders in Cameroon
- Develop Football 7 on the African continent
- Promote the values of solidarity, fair play, and respect that characterize this sport

VISIT PROGRAMME

The AFC7 delegation, led by its President, will be in Yaoundé for a series of meetings with Cameroonian football officials. Discussions will focus on ways to develop Football 7 in Cameroon and Africa, as well as opportunities for cooperation between AFC7 and Cameroonian authorities.

The AFC7 delegation will also engage with local Football 7 stakeholders, including clubs, players, and coaches, to discuss the challenges and opportunities of Football 7 in Africa.

EXPECTED OUTCOMES

The AFC7 visit to Cameroon is expected to result in the signing of several cooperation agreements between AFC7 and Cameroonian authorities, as well as the implementation of concrete projects to develop Football 7 in Africa.
