Rev. Can. Latimer Muwanguzi was awarded for being the best leader in Uganda's Disc Golf since the days when disc golf was only a proposal to Ndejje University. The award was named after him in honor of the great role he has played in introducing Disc golf to Uganda and it's ongoiing development. Going forward, he will be tasked to give out the MUWANGUZI AWARD at the end of each year to the best disc golf leader of the year.

All this happened at the End of the Year Disc Golf Awards for Uganda which happened at the Africa Pamoja Disc Golf Championship at Ndejje University Greenzone.

When the Paul McBeth Foundation came to Africa, their support has been fruitful, presenting developments that stand out. Since 2022, Africa has registered at least two disc golf courses installed every year, a growing frequency of tournaments and clinics every year, the growth number of TDs and clinics.

During this time, PMF has helped Africa to have more; more courses, more access, more opportunities. For such a great cause, we are set to Throw For More tomorrow on September 20th.

Three years ago, Israel Muwanguzi was a world champion woodball player from Uganda - 12th worldwide, 1st in all of Africa. His goal was always simple: be THE champion.

Then he discovered disc golf in December 2022 through the PMF, and everything changed.

“Joining disc golf gave me a different sense of purpose; to work behind curtains in order to raise future champions other than me. Administration became more fulfilling than the urge to become a world champion one day.”

In just 3 years, Israel became Uganda’s first Tournament Director, brought disc golf to 33 districts and 5 cities, and is now East Africa PDGA Coordinator organizing Africa’s first-ever Disc Golf Summit.

From world champion athlete to building champions across an entire continent. This is the ripple effect we’re creating on September 20.
