🥊 Strengthening Safe Sport in the Marshall Islands! 🛡️

We are proud to announce that two of our Executive Board members recently participated in and successfully completed the Safeguarding in Sport Workshop - Secretary General Bryant Zebedy and Athlete Commission Chair Beven DeBrum Wakefield.

The workshop is a vital step in ensuring that our athletes, coaches, and officials can thrive in a safe, inclusive, and respectful sporting environment.

Key takeaways from the workshop included:

✅Understanding the principles of safeguarding and athlete protection at all levels of sport.
✅Recognizing signs of abuse, harassment, and exploitation, and learning appropriate reporting channels.
✅ Implementing policies and procedures to ensure safe participation, especially for minors and vulnerable athletes.
✅ Promoting a culture of accountability and transparency across all federation activities.

The Executive Board is committed to applying these learnings to the federation by:

🥊Strengthening our safeguarding policies and reporting procedures.
🥊Educating management, coaches, athletes, and volunteers on safe sport practices.
🥊Ensuring that all activities, competitions, and training sessions are conducted with the highest standards of care and protection.

Together, we are building a stronger, safer, and more empowering environment for all athletes in the Marshall Islands.

Special Kommool Tata to Marshall Islands National Olympic Committee and its supporting partners: Oceania Impact Network, Olympic Solidarity, Australian Aid | Team Up.

The Marshall Islands Boxing Federation joins the rest of Oceania in celebrating the incredible women leading the way in sports! 🏅✨ This includes our very own VP of Women in Sport Elizabeth Holly and Athlete Commission Co-Chair Loeak-Myazoe.

From coaches and referees to administrators and federation leaders, women are shaping the future of sport with vision, passion, and resilience. Their leadership inspires athletes, strengthens communities, and ensures that sports are inclusive, safe, and empowering for all.

Let’s continue to support and recognize women in every role—on the field, behind the scenes, and at the decision-making table. 🌟
