Macedonian SUP Team at the Spring sup race – A Weekend to Remember! 🇮🇹🇲🇰

What an incredible experience for our Macedonian SUP Team this weekend at the Spring SUP Race 2026 in the stunning medieval town of Comacchio for the Chrono Race and Lake Nazioni for the Tech, Long distance and Inflatable races. This event marked the start of the 2026 SUP racing season, and it truly set the tone for an exciting year ahead. 🏄‍♀️🏄‍♂️

From the CHRONO SUP RACE time trial on Day 1 to the upcoming ICF technical and long-distance battles, the energy, spirit, and level of competition were absolutely world-class. The event brought together some of the finest paddlers from across the globe – including world champions Espe Barreras, Cecilia Pampinella as well as Andrii Kraytor, Manuel Hoyuela and Donato Freens who showed why they’re at the top of the sport. 🤙🏼

Our Macedonian paddlers gave it their all on the waters of Comacchio’s canals, fighting with new unified boards given by the organizers thru a tough international competition. Every stroke was a statement of dedication and love for the sport. Our team stood proudly on the starting line and had great results where our founder Damjan Petreski finished in a strong 23th place while Marko Kovachevski finished on 33th place among Europe’s best.

Day 2 was no different, this was the day for the 'Tech Race' as well as the 'Inflatable Race'. Damjan Petreski and Kristina Simeonova were racing on this day, where Damjan finished the race in the quarter finals in an intense heat that brought a great battle and Kristina finished her 4km Inflatable race in 6th place in her Grand Master +50 category with a finishing time of 38m23s.

Day 3 was all about the long distance race and after a difficult start of the day for Damjan he recovered quickly with his new Mistral Vortex SD 1 board and got back in the competition spirit pushing the whole race thru head wind and had a great finishing time of 1h31m19s on the 10km course (11.1km to be exact). Marko rode the Mistral Vortex Air on the other had and finished the race in in 1h52m43s.

Beyond the racing, this trip was about connection – meeting fellow SUP enthusiasts, exchanging experiences, cheering for each other, and soaking up the incredible community spirit that makes SUP so special. ❤ The atmosphere was pure joy – laughter, music, and endless stories of adventure.
We’ve headed home filled with new lessons, friendships, and motivation for the next challenges. The season has officially begun, and we can’t wait to take the Macedonian flag even further across Europe’s waters!
