📢 A Dominant Display And A Derby Owned
Our U15s secured another convincing victory against rivals Dingli Swallows in a top-of-the-table clash. Although our opponents tried defending with everything they had to avoid conceding, our boys still managed to break down their defence and outplayed Dingli in all departments of the pitch, ending the first half with a solid two-goal cushion.
In the second half, Coach Adrian Lanzon made two substitutions that immediately impacted the match, bringing more stability at the back, greater pe*******on in the final third, and more attractive football overall. The team extended the lead with another four goals, only to concede once from a Dingli counterattack in the closing stages.
After the match, Coach Adrian Lanzon shared his thoughts:
“I’m happy with the team’s performance throughout the whole game, but the three points were our objective and that’s what we achieved. In my opinion, they were never a real threat — it was only a matter of time before we scored to put the game to bed.
The team showed massive resilience, especially in the second half, and proved that we are no accident now that we sit alone at the top of the table.
To make it even sweeter, Mġarr United F.C. drew 1–1 against Msida Saint-Joseph F.C., which makes us clear favourites to clinch the title with two more games to play against Mqabba and Tarxien respectively.
As I said from day one, our strength is having a full squad — not just eleven players. Staying humble and focused is now the most important thing, as everything depends on us and what we do.”
Well done, Mtarfa FC! 💙⚽
