Receiving msgs like this make my heart smile 💗

This journey began between the first and second trimester of pregnancy: a time of immense change in the body, mind, and nervous system. Our work focused on creating safety, calm, and ease of movement, while offering guidance that adapts to what the body and mind need in each stage.

I love receiving such positive feedback from clients who describe their sessions as supportive, reassuring, and safe especially during such a sensitive and transformative time in life, and even more so from someone who has navigated quite the journey to conceive.

Moments like this reflect the essence of our therapeutic work: being present, attentive, and holding space where the body can feel supported to do what it already knows how to do. 🤰🏼👶🏻

Grateful for the trust, and for the continued connections beyond sessions.

Sometimes the real outcome of YT (YT) appears long after the sessions end.

About a year ago, a client came to YT in severe pain: struggling to move, overwhelmed by anxiety, and exhausted by symptoms affecting her whole body.

Together, we worked gently and progressively: restoring movement, rebuilding trust in her body, regulating the nervous system, and reconnecting her with her own capacity to heal.

Pain reduced significantly, confidence returned, and eventually our work came to a natural pause.

Recently, she reached out again, not because symptoms had returned, but to share something I found deeply meaningful.

After much discussion and reflection, with conversations held during our sessions about the impact work was having on her health, she made the courageous decision to change her years-long career, a major stressor that had been deeply impacting her symptoms. She finally took the plunge, sharing that she finally feels lighter, better, and more aligned with herself.

In our sessions, we’d spoken about recognising her worth, valuing her health, and choosing herself.

Moments like this remind me how meaningful and rewarding YT and therapeutic relationships can be. Together, we don’t only focus on relieving pain; we focus on helping you reconnect with your inner resources, achieving clarity, and self-agency so you can make life choices that truly support your Eudaimonic well-being.

I feel deeply grateful when clients stay in touch and share their journeys even after our work together ends. It speaks volumes about what goes on beyond therapy and treatment: a process of lasting change.

The quiet joy of freeing up your calendar… and choosing yourself.

No rushing. No forcing plans. No saying yes out of obligation.
Instead…spontaneous outings, space to breathe, to work in peace if needed, knowing you will have quiet time later on. Time that actually feels like your own.

I’m learning that choosing myself is not selfish, but necessary. Only then can we breathe, and treat those that matter with utmost love, respect, and dignity. Without it, we’re just rushing, chaotic, snapping at those around us perhaps, and meeting demands instead of living through heart and soul.

FREEDOM sometimes looks like protecting your time, your energy, and your peace.

And honestly, it feels SO good physically, mentally, emotionally, and socially.

I’m finally applying what I preach to clients, to myself, truly.
I’m finally feeling my nervous system ease, melting even.

While most see a strong woman (based on people’s comments), the truth is I’ve been in overdrive and survival mode for quite some years now: Hyper-independence, hypervigilance, hyper analytical thinking… these are partly traits of mine, but also adaptations I had to learn early in life, and recent years have re-activated those same qualities.

It feels good to treat yourself with compassion. To take time to breathe, to heal, and move your body.
This is what Yoga Therapy is about: a biopsychosocial, emotional, and spiritual approach that supports the WHOLE person.

IT FEELS GOOD!

Preparing for cancer treatment can bring many emotions as uncertainty, fear, and sometimes information overload.

Taking small, supportive steps before treatment begins may help you feel more prepared and resourced, and it can make a big difference.

Preparing your body, asking the right questions, and organising medical checks can help reduce complications and give you more confidence as treatment starts.

Key things to consider before treatment:
• Speak openly with your doctor
• Check heart health if required
• Discuss fertility options
• Get a dental check-up
• Support your body with rest and nutrition

If you or someone you know is preparing for cancer treatment, saving or sharing this information may help.

Many see a yoga mat and think stillness, mindfulness, yoga and meditation. I see that too but my yoga mat is where workouts, music, dance, journaling, breath stillness and creativity all converge to bring me back home to myself as I unfold in the moment. One moment I’m heading in to the shower, the next I find myself working out, dancing, stretching, breathing, yogaing and journaling, with music in the background guiding the mood and flow of whatever emerges.

I’m not much of a Christmas fan, and even less of the commercial rush that seems to start earlier every year. Still, seeing decorations pop up everywhere did spark a thought.

If you’re choosing something for your loved ones this season, why not offer something meaningful this year; something that enriches their life by supporting their wellbeing, lifestyle, growth, and health?

At Baobab, you can choose a WELLNESS VOUCHER or carefully selected PREMIUM EQUIPMENT, while ENJOYING 15% OFF MANDUKA GEAR. This makes for an intentional gesture that nurtures body and mind, without the noise of the season… and truthfully, it doesn’t have to be Christmas at all. That’s why these offers are up all year round on our website.

Hyperventilation: How Yoga Therapy Can Help Overcome Over-Breathing and Restore Health in Hyperventilation Syndrome (HVS) - Baobab Yoga Therapy 09/11/2025

Hyperventilation isn’t just feeling “short of breath.” Even well-meaning advice like “take a deep breath” can sometimes worsen it, encouraging rapid, shallow breathing instead of effective oxygen exchange.

Head over to my website insights to understand the science behind over-breathing and discover how yoga therapy can help restore balance and calm.

Lately I’ve been feeling rather inward, a quiet journey of self-reflection… existentialism even.

Some mornings feel heavier than others. There are days when showing up takes more energy than I have.
This morning was one of them. Waking up was hard. Showing up was hard.

Waiting for students to arrive, my mind was full of quiet questions and the world felt a little dim.

But then as students walked in, connections were made, and we proceeded to move and breathe. That’s when magic happened. I didn’t realise until the end of the session when a student approached me, eyes filled with tears and a heart full of gratitude, sharing how these sessions have been her go to treatment, as she navigates difficult times.

In that moment, everything softened. Right then I knew why I had to show up this morning, and every day. We never know the light we carry for others. This has actually happened quite a few times recently both on and off the mat, where small acts have meant the world to others. And my own heart then fills with love and gratitude as to why… my purpose. Holding space for others to breathe, to heal, to rediscover themselves has been a blessing, not just for them, but myself too as I navigate my own inward journey through pain, courage and love.

It’s humbling to be reminded that even on the days when I feel inward or uncertain, something meaningful is still unfolding for both of us🕊️🙏🏼🌷
