🧡🦉 Confirmed & Ready! Swieqi United is delighted to announce the appointment of Liam Mangion as our new coach. Bringing a wealth of experience, tactical insight, and unwavering enthusiasm, Coach Mangion is set to inspire both players and supporters alike. Everyone at the club is looking forward to the new season with renewed energy and optimism under his leadership. 🟠⚫️ Welcome to the team, Liam!

As season 2024/25 has come to an end, I would like to take this opportunity to thank Santa Lucia FC for the opportunity of coaching the senior team. This has proven to be my most challenging, but most memorable season yet.

A season full of endless emotions, pure passion and drive. A season were no one thought we could see any form of light. But this is football and when you have players that are humble to work restlessly to bring home a result, game by game you begin not only to see the light, but unparalleled joy of witnessing a group of men work even harder, delivering what seemed to be impossible very possible indeed.

Thanks to all the hard work of these protagonists, the club managed to secure a Top 6️⃣ position and a club record ‘6️⃣’ consecutive wins in the process. Wow guys!

This couldn’t be be possible without my technical staff namely the talented Mark Saliba (my right hand man), Martin Moyano (goalkeeper coach) and Andrew Azzopardi (our lucky charm assistant).

A special thanks to our Team Manager David Gomez and Paolo our super kitman, for all the hard work and commitment to ensure that the players and staff are catered to all their needs.

A special mention must certainly go to the committee of Santa Lucia FC led by the President together with the Vice President and Gen. Secretary for their constant administrative work. (Not an easy season I assure you). Thank you 🙏

A special mention must also go to the Yellow Army for their consistent support, led by the mighty Jacob Falzon (our drummer 🥁 Viking).

The biggest thank you and gratitude must go to my players. What a fantastic group you are both on and off the pitch. I’m truly humbled, grateful and honoured to have had the privilege of coaching and mentoring each and everyone of you super humans.

Now it’s time to re-charge (just a bit), but I am already ready for whatever challenge awaits, with even more experience, passion and drive for the game we love so much….Football.
