He never laced up boxing gloves, but terry fox remains one of the toughest fighters this country has ever produced.

Diagnosed with bone cancer at just 18 years old, Terry lost his right leg to the disease. Rather than give up, he set out to run across Canada - the Marathon of Hope - to raise money and awareness for cancer research.

Running the equivalent of a full marathon every single day, he covered over 5,300 kilometers in 143 days before the cancer forced him to stop.

He passed away in 1981 at just 22 years old, but his legacy has never stopped growing.

Every September, millions of people across dozens of countries take part in the Terry Fox Run in his honor, raising hundreds of millions of dollars for cancer research along the way.

Real strength isn’t always found in the ring. fans

Rest in Peace, George Chuvalo. πŸ₯ŠπŸ•ŠοΈ

This week, Canada lost a true legend of boxing. George Chuvalo passed away at the age of 89 - a life defined by resilience, both in and out of the ring.

A five-time Canadian heavyweight champion with a career record of 73-18-2, Chuvalo is best remembered for his two epic clashes with Muhammad Ali in 1966 and 1972. He lost both fights on points - but he was never once knocked down across 93 professional bouts. Ali himself called him Β« the toughest guy I ever fought.

Beyond the ring, Chuvalo faced unimaginable personal tragedy, losing three sons and his first wife to drugs and su***de.

Instead of being broken by it, he spent decades traveling across Canada, speaking to students about the dangers of addiction - turning his pain into purpose.

A fighter until the very end. A true Canadian icon.
Thank you for everything, George.
