Due to the recent increase in incidents related to water-based activities, Ministry of tourism has once again reminded all tourist facilities to be vigilant and take precautionary measures especially in relation to swimming, snorkeling, diving and other water-based activities.

" " Our only spot for Kiteboarding. As well as a Picnic Island for the locals around Rasdhoo. Sadly the beach of the island is slowly getting smaller and smaller due to erosion. If we dont protect the place from erosion the place itself will be gone for good.
We call for every authority for help to protect this beautifull place.

It all started around early 2000. He started to fly his NAISH KITE around Rasdhoo. At the time Kiteboarding wasn't a popular thing. Days go by and he used to teach his friends the basic of Kiteboarding. Where he used to tie a rope around his student just for safety measures. And slowly people started to get into Kiteboarding.

And ofcourse its all beacuse of legends back then other watersports activities were introduced and practiced at Rasdhoo in the early 90s. In order to continue this its upto us to continue to keep this beautiful life that they started.

Since the golden era of 90's, the people of Rasdhoo have been passionate about water sports. Way back then, Windsurfing was considered the most common and challenging sport, that is until Kitesurfing was introduced to Rasdhoo in the early 2000. Just as the elder generation embraced and mastered the sport of Windsurfing, the new generation will take Kitesurfing to new heights

A very enthusiastic young athlete, who spends most of his time in the water being a watersports guide at Kuramathi resort. He started kiteboarding four years ago, when he was 18 years old, and says it's great to see how quickly kiteboarding has become popular in the Maldives, especially among the Youth. We wish him a bright future in kiteboarding!
