A first for Malawi Netball!

The FDH Premier Netball League was launched in 2025 with a whooping MK1.2bn package for 4 years! The inaugural season was completed on 22nd March 2026 and its been an exciting season where our top 12 national teams have played against each other for 8 months!

We have seen teams improving and girls showing their mettle! We have seen our players being active throughout the year and we are excited about how the game of netball will continue to develop.

When we signed this partnership, FDH Bank Plc - Malawi were very clear on what the intention was....to develop the game. I firmly believe that this is being accomplished and I couldn't be more proud of how the first season has ended. A huge thank you to the FDH Staff Levie Nkunika Lorraine Lusinje Chikhula Tiyese Kaimila Nthombizana Thindwa Ronald Chimchere who have been with us every step of the way. They didnt just sign the cheque... they worked side-by-side side with us to make this season a success and we couldn't be more thankful of a team that truly supported the development of the game.

The success is also primarily attributed to the FDH Premier Netball League Committee led my Linda Magombo and a team of experienced netball administrators who have managed the 264 games excellently. This trailblazing and dedicated team has profoundly surpassed all our expectations! Well done!

Congratulations to Blue Eagles, Civo and Kukoma Diamonds for a wonderful season and the most improved team of youngsters, Vanessa Sisters, who finished on 4th position.

FDH SPORT

It was with profound sadness that we heard the loss of Hellen Mpinganjira Tasosa on 17th March 2025, a stalwart in the netball fraternity and sports sector at large in Malawi.

Throughout her life, she dedicated herself to fostering sports development in Malawi, serving with distinction in various capacities within the Malawi Olympics Committee, Tigresses Club, Malawi National Council for Sports, Netball Association of Malawi, and as a founding member of Africa Netball. Her multifaceted contributions to netball encompassed playing, umpiring, coaching, mentoring, managing, and administering, embodying her unwavering commitment.

Her leadership was characterized by warmth, unity, and an infectious smile. Our interactions in January and final conversation on 22nd February 2026 underscored her tireless dedication, even in adversity.

We mourn the loss of an extraordinary individual whose passion for netball, leadership acumen, and guidance will be deeply missed.

May her legacy inspire us in unity, commitment, and dsicipline in the sports fraternity. My heartfelt condolences go to her family and all who knew her.

May Hellen Mpinganjira's soul rest in eternal peace.
