So easily swayed by what we feel or by what others say
To have Conviction and Character seem archaic to this new generation
Where we are ever so “Connected" yet our neighbors so distant
The common man is no longer friend but foe
No longer Human but an Object under the scrutiny of our "Social Norms"
The Thinker and Observer are looked down up
Or better yet are misunderstood for our generation knows not that they know not
Babling on their phones, scrolling through the hottest app or endless selfies while drinking “Gourmet” Coffee
They think this is the good life
Yet they wonder why they feel so empty; the urge to fill the void with the latest trend
If only they’d put the phone down and listened to the birds or felt the gentle breeze as the sun sets
Instead they hit “Like” ….
