Did you know you can practice with me anytime, right from the comfort of your own home? 🧘🏻♀️
I love teaching in a series format. Rather than changing the sequence completely every week, we spend several weeks exploring a similar practice, allowing the body and mind to become familiar with the shapes, the rhythm, and the intention behind them.
Each series is also shaped by the season we’re in.
This month, we’re moving slowly and intentionally, focusing on hip and hamstring opening, spinal mobility, and an all around good stretch. 🌿
And if you can’t make it to class, I’ve created an abbreviated version of this month’s practice and it’s up on YouTube today!
So grab your mat, find a little space, and practice with me whenever it works for you.

Have you ever wondered why we open (or close) our practice with that one long, low sound?
✨Om isn’t just a nice way to start class. It’s been used for centuries, across cultures, as a way to bring people together in one shared breath and one shared sound. There’s something powerful about singing with a room full of people. It reminds us we’re not practicing alone, even when the rest of the hour is spent inward.
✨Chanting is also genuinely soothing for your nervous system. The vibration you feel in your chest and throat when you sound out Om has a calming effect, the same way a deep exhale or a hum can settle you. It’s not just symbolic. Your body actually responds to it.
✨Om also marks a threshold. It’s the sound that says, this hour is different from the rest of my day. Your practice is sacred time, just for you, and chanting Om is how we step into it. It draws your attention to your breath and brings your mind fully onto the mat.
✨In many traditions, Om is said to represent the whole universe, everyone and everything in it. Chanting it out loud is one small way we connect ourselves to something bigger than our own practice, and to each other.
So next time you’re in class and we chant together, know it’s not just tradition. It’s community, it’s nervous system care, and it’s a doorway into your practice.

Can we talk about this pose for a minute?
Ardha Uttanasana, or Half Forward Fold, is one of the postures I see people gloss over the most in class. And I get it. It’s rarely broken down or explained. Most of the time it’s treated like a quick stop on the way up or down.
But this pose has a purpose.
In yoga, every posture is intentional. Nothing is just filler.
In Half Forward Fold, we’re creating length through the spine, stretching the muscles of the low back, gently activating the muscles that support the spine, and giving the body a moment to let blood pressure regulate before moving on.
Could you do all of that with your fingertips on the floor? Maybe. But that’s usually not the point.
Instead of thinking about reaching for the ground, think about lifting your chest enough to create a long, neutral spine. For many people, placing the hands on the shins, or even the thighs, actually makes it easier to find the shape and feel the muscles along the back body engage.
Press your torso away from your legs. Reach the crown of your head forward. Let your spine get long.
After all, it’s called Half Forward Fold… not Fingers to the Floor Pose.
The next time you flow through it, don’t rush past it. Pause. Feel it. There is a lot happening in this “in-between” posture.

There is a lot unfolding over here in the coming months, and I’m so excited to share these experiences with you.
Each retreat is different in location, feel, and focus, but they all hold the same intention at heart,
space to practice,
space to connect,
space to step away from the noise of daily life and return to yourself.
Details for each retreat are in the link in my bio.

“What is yoga therapy?” It’s one of the questions I get asked most often.
Yoga therapy is a personalized, evidence informed practice that uses movement, breath, meditation, mindfulness, and lifestyle practices to support your overall well being.
Unlike a typical yoga class, yoga therapy is adapted to meet you where you are and support your unique needs and goals.
Curious if yoga therapy might be right for you? I’d love to answer your questions. Feel free to send me a message. 💚

It’s officially summer and it certainly feels like it here in Austin. This is Pitta season in Ayurveda, fire, heat, intensity, and as that energy rises in the external world, we turn to slower, quieter, more grounding practices to bring balance to the internal landscape.
Starting a new summer series in all studio classes this week. I’ll also be sharing some tips here in the weeks to come, so stay tuned.
Stay cool out there. Hope to see you soon!

It’s been a hard few weeks. We had a loss in our family, and I’m at a loss for words. Still processing, and very much grieving. If I’ve been quiet here, now you know why. If I’ve been a bit more reserved in class, this is the reason.
I’m trying very hard to practice non-attachment, but it’s not easy.
We will be back to our regularly scheduled programming soon. But for now, I’m taking a little more time.
Lots of love to you and yours.
Life is fragile and fleeting. Don’t take a moment for granted. 🤍

Lake Atitlán has been on my heart for years 💗 and every single person I know who has been there tells me the same thing: the beauty stops you, and the energy changes you. Three ancient volcanoes rising around still, crystal blue water. A place that slows you down in the best possible way and reminds you of what matters.
I am going for the first time in February 2027, and I cannot think of a more meaningful way to arrive than surrounded by community.
We gather at Villa Sumaya on the shores of this sacred lake for six nights of yoga, stillness, nourishing food, sacred ceremony, and the kind of connection that only happens when you truly step away.
We are down to our last couple of rooms, double occupancy only, meaning you would share with another traveler. In my experience, some of the most beautiful friendships are born exactly this way.
If Guatemala has been calling you, this is your sign to stop waiting.

We’re going to Spain 🇪🇸✨
I’m so excited to finally share this with you.
Of all the countries I’ve had the privilege of visiting, Spain remains my favorite. There’s something about the energy, the landscape, the culture… it stays with you. I’m truly thrilled to be able to bring a group here.
Join me in Southern Spain for a week of yoga, exploration, and time to really settle in. We’ll move and breathe together each day, and also experience the beauty of Andalusia through its villages, food, and traditions.
This one feels really special to me, and I would love for you to be part of it.
