Master Edwin always had a vision for Taekwondo and for those who trained under his guidance. His standard of excellence has always been a priority in each and every lesson. His love for Taekwondo (and how it changed his life) was evident by the way he treated his students and by how he taught each and every lesson. With passion, with determination, with compassion, with honesty, and with integrity. Every student who stood before him in their white uniforms grasped every word of his lessons and the energy that surrounded his classes was not only felt by the students but by the spectators as well.

His standard of excellence is what we use every day to operate our Dojang. Every Master, Instructor, and staff member is influenced by his teachings and we pride ourselves in continuing to teach. Failing to be our best for not only our Master, but our students, is not an option. Success in our teachings is the only option we have and we are proud to embody success everyday.

BUILDING TEAM WORK

Over the many years since Master Edwin first opened his dojang in 2005, his team has grown immensely. Team work is at the foundation of how we operate. MASTER EDWIN has taught his students that a unified and cooperative group that cares for one another is the strongest group in any team environment. We are a family and treat each other as such. Every year, month, week, and day we have an opportunity to embrace new people into our family-like team and there is nothing better than that!

We. Have. The. Best. People. Ever! Coming to the dojang is the best part of our day! We get to see our students who are like family to us. We do not have a “revolving door” at our dojang. The relationships between students and between staff and students are important to our Taekwondo Martial Arts development.

Being a leader of the dojang (whether a Master or Instructor) is one of the greatest gifts. Wearing a black belt means we are forever a student to our Martial Art and to life. There is so much to learn in life and having an open mind to all experiences is very important to our growth as human beings.

The most important journey to a Taekwondo Martial Artist is not the physical capabilities anyone would learn, but it is the mental and spiritual growth that matters the most. The beauty of Taekwondo Martial Arts is that anyone can physically be as capable and as strong as possible, but the journey within is what changes a person.

Physically do we train hard? Absolutely! Mentally is where the hardest training happens. Our country is beautiful, wonderful, and amazing. But one thing our MALAYSIAN culture allows is backing down to challenges. Life is full of challenges, physical, emotional, mental challenges and for some when life has a challenge they have the liberty of choosing another path. The unfortunate thing is then that person will never overcome their challenge and most likely repeat the behaviour for future life challenges. We believe in encouraging students to dream big and look forward to the obstacles life can present. Moo Duk Kwan Martial Arts & Taekwondo Academy is a indipendent taekwondo martial arts organisation which is formed since 2005 and the founder of this is Master Edwin (5th Dan)Kukkiwon.This dojang is also registered as a Individual Member of KMS,KUKKIWON (WORLD TAEKWONDO HQ, KOREA) and also approved by Malaysian Government Agency, (Malaysia Education Ministry(KPM) to propagate Martial Arts Classes throughout government schools in Malaysia.
