Diving and Saving the Ocean: A Shared Responsibility

The ocean, a vital source of life on Earth, is facing an alarming crisis. It is increasingly polluted with rubbish, such as plastics, fishing nets, and other debris that harm marine ecosystems and wildlife. Divers, with their unique access to underwater environments, have a special role to play in protecting and restoring these ecosystems.

Oceans worldwide are littered with waste. Plastic bags, bottles, and fishing gear often find their way into the water, endangering marine species like turtles, fish, and seabirds. Coral reefs, which are critical to marine biodiversity, are particularly vulnerable to pollution.
