🚀 From 600 to 1300 – Isaac’s Rapid Rise in Chess! 🧠♟️

2 months ago when Isaac first joined our chess academy, his rating stood at 600. Today, he’s already at 1300—and climbing! In just a short span of time, Isaac has more than doubled his rating, showcasing what’s possible with the right training, dedication, and support.

As part of his journey, Isaac also began gaining tournament experience—most notably representing his school to compete in the National Schools Individual Chess Championships (NSI) in Singapore, where he faced off against some of the country’s brightest young talents. These events have helped sharpen his skills, build confidence, and fuel his passion for the game.

His progress is a shining example of what we stand for: “Improve in Chess Fast.”

We’re incredibly proud of Isaac’s hard work and determination. This is just the beginning of his chess journey—and we can’t wait to see how far he’ll go! 🏆🔥

Just months ago, Brandon was just grasping the basics of chess. Fast forward to today—he’s surpassed 1200 on Lichess and was crowned Best U8 in his category! 🤩👏 Seeing him smile with confidence, knowing his hard work is paying off, makes this journey even more rewarding for us as coaches!

I recently had a class and played a game with Brandon and was amazed by his progress—not just in rating, but in his thinking process and decision-making. Hearing him think aloud, I could see how much he has matured as a player!

🔹 Strategic Growth: He now forms plans instantly—and as Kasparov once said, “A bad plan is better than no plan!” His ability to think fast gives him a big edge on the clock.
🔹 Tactical Awareness: Not only is he has improved in solving tactics, but he’s also learning to identify and avoid tactical vulnerabilities. Today, he was extra mindful about potential pins which was indeed the theme of the game we played—proof of his growing board awareness!

Brandon’s dedication, paired with the unwavering support of his parents, is fueling his chess journey. Hard work pays off, and we can’t wait to see his next achievement! ♟️🚀

🎉 From Beginner to Champion: Yu Sing’s Inspiring Chess Journey! ♟️

We first met Yu Sing at one of the chess tournaments we organized. Back then, he was relatively new to the game, but what stood out was his courage and determination. He stepped up to the challenge, finishing 35th out of 51 players with a solid 2.5/6 points. We knew he had potential.

When Yu Sing and his parents entrusted us with his chess training through Dr. James Chess Classes, we were thrilled. His passion and commitment quickly became clear. His creative suggestions during practice showed not just talent but also genuine effort and thought.

📈 A few months later, the results started pouring in!
🏅 From his first-ever medal, beaming with pride (Picture 2), to his most recent tournament, where he shone as the best performer in his age group (Picture 1), Yu Sing’s progress has been incredible.
We’re so proud to have been part of his journey and can’t wait to see what he achieves next. 🌟

Winning his first two tournaments after barely four months of learning chess!

Very proud to see 7-year-old Brandon achieving Top 10 in his first-ever MSSD category, competing with players up to 12 years old, and securing 2nd place in the 3 Damansara Chess Tournament!

We first met four months ago when we were still exploring how the pieces move and how castling works. With Brandon’s dedication, hard work, and support from his passionate parents, he improved quickly while enjoying the game!

Time flew during our fun classes, and before we knew it, Brandon joined his first-ever chess tour and delighted us by securing 2nd place in his age group. Soon after, he was selected to play in MSSD after performing well in his school selection. Despite our nerves about him competing against older players, Brandon did his best and performed admirably, finishing in the Top 10. Being so young, we look forward to more of his achievements to come!

Another exciting 3 Damansara Chess Tournament Experience! 🤩 this time with multiple categories U7, U9, U11, U13 and last but not least, OPEN category back in action!
