Darren Fletcher stepping in as interim coach would explain why he’s been turning up at United games recently. Looking back, it feels like the decision was already made weeks ago.

Amorim’s fate seems to have been sealed long before now, they just waited for the situation to fully collapse before pulling the trigger.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the owners still avoid signing a proper midfielder and by March the frustration shifts onto Fletcher instead. It feels like the same cycle waiting to repeat itself.

For now though, all we can do is hope Fletcher can do what Ole did and bring the feel good factor back to the club. Cos we desperately need that right now
