"Plantkeeping" Part 2: Repotting and saving the succulents.

It's been a long time since my last post. Have not payed much attention to my baby plants..my apologies dearies 😩. Adelea is in year 1 now and goes to national school in the morning and Islamic school in the afternoon. Dzaheen is in secondary school. With 3 sessions to run around, it's quite hectic to be honest. But I'm grateful I have the chance to see the kids grow and pay more attention to them compared to when I had a full time job. Alhamdulillah. ❤️

Anyway, I had these cacti for quite a while, supposed to be for other projects but due to the busyness (I need an excuse!) they were just abandoned. So yesterday I forced myself to do "plantkeeping", repotting, threw away dead ones 😭 and made a terrarium. I've always wanted a cacti terrarium (yeah, done for others, I myself don't have one 😋). So, I gathered all the cactus and got myself a cacti terrarium. YEAY! 💚🌵. So lets hope the adrenaline keeps me going! 😄

P/S: The pot was from IKEA..I bought it long2 time ago and totally forgotten about it. Found it during rescent house spring cleaning..yea, I have lots of junks! Guilty as charged 🙈.

It's been a long time since we went to the park. The weather was great, cloudy hence not so hot. I love trees, Adelea loves feeding the turtles, fishes, birds and monkeys. Dzaheen had the chance to do his fitness regime. Me..just brisk walking with Adelea 😅. But the park is under maintenance, so the lake is very cloudy. Anyway, we had fun! Must try to make this a weekly activity. 😍

Brought home some fallen branches for my next terrariums projects. But meanwhile, lets just put them in a glass and adore them while they last. 🤗😍

Introducing Miko boy (left) and Chika girl (right). We adopted Chika a year after we got Miko as Miko had this excessive grooming habit. The vet told us probably because he was lonely and had nothing to do that he licked himself until his fur became very dry and his skin developed eczema. We adopted Chika with Memet (a calico) but had to give Memet to our neighbour as she's a single person cat. She just couldn't live with the others. 🙄. These two are love birds, Miko being a sweet boy, accepts and loves Chika, Georgie Porgie and Ria like his own kittens. Until now he still takes care of the others, sometimes overprotective. 🤗❤️

And of coure, Ria just had to photobomb a nice photoshoot! 😅

And as usual, we can never catch a good photo of Georgie Porgie. He's always lost in the dark....🕴️

Miko - Yellow eyes
Chika - Blue eyes
Georgie Porgie - Hetrochromia with yellow/green eyes
Ria - Golden eyes
Coming soon - Green eyes 😁

Finally, re-potting the cacti is completed. Alhamdulillah, it was a success! Managed to savage almost all of the babies, except a few that I had to remove as they were hanging by a merely thin root. Not as difficult as I thought it would be. A few pricks on my fingers, but it was 100% worth it! Luckily the helper at the nursery gave some tips yesterday on how to re-pot. He said cacti this big can sell more than RM1000! 😎. Hope mak and arwah ayah will be happy with the outcome. 💚🌵😊

P/S: Can you see a another species of little cactus baby (or succulent?) among the thorns? 😍
