🇳🇦🌍 Africa Day Celebration | Playtime Namibia

Today we proudly join the rest of the continent in celebrating Africa Day — a reminder of our shared strength, diversity, and potential.

At Playtime Namibia, we believe that the future of Africa is not something we wait for — it is something we actively build every day.

Through sport, mentorship, and play, we are committed to shaping confident, disciplined, and empowered young people who will grow into the leaders of tomorrow.

We are proud to be playing our part in building a brighter future for Africa, one child at a time.

Happy Mother’s Day 💙

Today, we celebrate all the incredible mothers who are part of the Playtime Namibia family.

To the mothers of the children in our programmes — thank you for your love, support, encouragement, and for trusting us to be part of your children’s journey. Your guidance and care help shape the future every single day.

To the mothers who are part of our coaching and administration teams — thank you for the dedication, patience, and hard work you put into keeping Playtime Namibia running and creating a safe, positive space for our children to grow through sport.

And to all the children of Playtime Namibia, today is also a reminder to respect and value the young girls who stand beside you on the field and in life. One day, many of them will become mothers too — and every mother deserves kindness, respect, and appreciation.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the amazing mothers and future mothers in our Playtime Namibia community. 🌸⚽

BUILDING A BRIGHTER TOMMORROW

It’s easy to think we’re simply teaching sport — cricket, football, athletics.

But every day, on every field, something far more important is happening.

Through the guidance of our dedicated coaches, children are learning confidence, discipline, teamwork, and resilience.

They are discovering their potential, building character, and developing the foundations they will carry into adulthood.

At Playtime Namibia, we’re not just developing players — we’re helping shape the children of today into the leaders of tomorrow.

Because every session is an opportunity to build a brighter future.

🇳🇦 Happy Independence Day, Namibia!

Today, we celebrate the spirit of freedom, unity, and opportunity that defines our nation.

At Playtime Namibia, we are proud to play our part in shaping the future of Namibia—one child, one game, and one lesson at a time.

Through sport, we empower young people with the confidence, teamwork, and resilience they need to grow into strong, responsible citizens. Because a truly independent nation is built on the strength, character, and dreams of its youth.

As we celebrate this special day, let’s continue to invest in our children, protect our environment, and work together for a brighter, more sustainable future for all.
Happy Independence Day! ⚽🌍

Training Update âš˝

Here’s a snapshot of yesterday's sessions at Playtime Namibia:

Today’s focus was on our boys’ age groups:

U9 – 16 players in attendance
U11 – 39 players travelled to Atlantis for fixtures, while an additional group of 15 U11 players remained behind for training

It’s fantastic to see such strong participation and commitment across both groups 👏🏾

Following the boys’ session, Coach Shiimi led training with her girls’ teams, with great support from Max, Anouk, Pete and Moritz, who all joined in to assist and encourage the session.

Another positive day of growth, teamwork and energy on the field! đź’Şâš˝

⚽🇳🇦 Champions of the Region! 🇳🇦⚽

What a moment for Namibian women in football!

A massive congratulations to the Namibia women's national football team on their incredible victory in the COSAFA Women's Championship, defeating South Africa women's national soccer team in a thrilling final yesterday.

This is more than just a trophy — it is a powerful statement about the growth of women’s football in Namibia.

It is about resilience, teamwork, belief, and the courage to compete at the highest level.

At Playtime Namibia, we see firsthand how sport builds confidence, discipline, and leadership in young girls.

Moments like this show every young player in our programmes that dreams are valid and success is possible.

To our champions: thank you for inspiring a nation and lighting the path for the next generation. 🇳🇦✨

The future of Namibian women’s football is bright — and yesterday proved it.

Welcome Back, Anouk! ⚽💙
The Playtime Namibia family is thrilled to welcome Anouk back for another month with us!

Anouk joins us from ASC Göttingen in Germany, a respected sports organisation and long-standing partner of Playtime Namibia.

Through this valued partnership, we are fortunate to host dedicated young volunteers who play a vital role in strengthening the engine room of our programmes and supporting youth development through sport.

After completing her first stint with us about a year ago, Anouk has returned to continue making an impact — and we couldn’t be happier to have her back, even if it’s just for a short while.

Welcome home, Anouk! 💙⚽

U9 & U11 Girls Soccer Training Update ⚽💪

What an incredible afternoon on the field!

Our session ran from 14:30 to 15:45, with an outstanding turnout of 37 young players ready to learn, compete and have fun.

We kicked off with energetic warm-ups and engaging games to get everyone moving and focused.

The girls were then divided into 7 teams of 5 players for exciting small-sided matches. With two additional players rotating between teams, we ensured that every player enjoyed equal game time and meaningful participation.

Each match lasted 6 minutes, and every team played at least two games — creating plenty of opportunities to build confidence, sharpen skills, and strengthen teamwork.

The energy, enthusiasm and determination on display were truly inspiring. Well done to all our young athletes! 👏⚽
