End of April I completed my 14-month Mindset Practitioner training. I’m working towards Certified Mindset Coach.
A few days ago, in the Fireside chat with Drikus, we spoke a lot about Mindset. The wind. The dark moments. The thinking that built his comeback.
I’d like to help more of you build mental fitness. So I’m starting a Mindset Q&A session.
Monday 18 May, 18:00 CAT. Open call on Zoom. 45 minutes. Free.
I’ll kick off with a few thoughts on goal setting. Then we’ll jump into your questions. Let’s learn from each other.
DM me for the Zoom link.

Congrats again on your performance on Saturday, . Well deserved celebrations.
Train hard, ride hard, enjoy the moments. We too often downplay our achievements and forget the celebrations.

The wind, the mud, 17-hour days - rode straight through it all and took Race Across South Africa.
But the story isn’t the win.
It’s everything before: Badlands DNF with COVID. Rwanda crash with a fractured hand. Months of indoor training with a splint, finding reasons to ride when he didn’t feel like it.
“You need to build character in the dark moments to inspire others when you shine.”
The full conversation with his coach - setbacks, mindset, and the comeback - is now available.

Remember the disappointment when Drikus had to pull out of Race Across Rwanda? And that after the Badlands DNF. Most struggle to get back after a setback - two months later, is back on the top step of the podium.
On Tuesday Drikus and I, , sit down for another fireside chat for a behind the scenes look at what it takes mentally and physically to stage a comeback.

You've got the legs. You've got the ambition. What you don't have is time.
If you're juggling a full-time job, a family, and the desire to race competitively — you already know the feeling. You wake up at 5am to squeeze in a ride before the kids are up. You skip the midweek group ride because work ran late. And when race day comes, the result doesn't match the sacrifice.
Here's the thing most training plans won't tell you: the problem isn't your fitness. It's your plan.
The 10-Hour Athlete Playbook is a free guide built specifically for competitive amateur cyclists who have around 10 hours a week — and need every single one to count.
Inside you'll find:
- Why training "harder" is actually making you slower
- The polarised training approach that elite coaches use (and why it matters even more when you're time-crunched)
- A sample 10-hour week structure you can adapt to your life
- How to train with your family, not around them
No fluff. No upsell. Just a framework that works within the reality of your life.
