Russell Josephat, the Namibian Karting youngster that has managed to make a name for himself in recent years, will be the only Namibian national to be awarded at the upcoming SARMC Northern Region Prize giving to be held in South Africa.
The youngster has also, due to his performance in the past National Championships, managed to attract MTC as an official sponsor and has shown that with the right support and motivation, talent can be unlocked.
Watching him race it is evident how he keeps his composure on track and he always remains very humble in post race engagements.
RJ63, by which he is also known, will be crowned Micro Max National champion at the upcoming Motorsport Federation Prize giving ceremony to be held in February thus making him a two time Champion, previously for the Bambino class.
We will be keeping our eyes on him.

The Art of the Roar: Life as a Motorsport Promoter
The life of a motorsport promoter is a high-speed, high-stakes balancing act, played out not on the track, but in spreadsheets, weather apps, and pocket notes. The challenge is to transform empty asphalt into a living, breathing spectacle.
The Challenges are relentless. First, the financial tightrope. Securing a race date is just the start. There's the permit fee, track rental fee, medical teams, marshals and scrutineers, transport and accommodation—and the relentless task of marketing to fill vast grandstands. A promoter bets everything that ticket sales will cover it all. Then, there’s the logistical labyrinth. Coordinating with local authorities, managing access, handling of vehicles, and ensuring that setup is complete is a military operation. And then there is always the force majeur issue - the odd chance the whether may not play along.
Yet, the successes are electric. They are measured in moments no spreadsheet can capture. The success of atmosphere—that palpable buzz when the paddock is thick with the smell of fuel and sizzling food, when the grandstand hums with anticipation. The success of sport, knowing you provided the stage. The success of community—seeing local businesses thrive and mentoring young volunteers who catch the motorsport bug.
The ultimate triumph is the roar. It’s not just surviving one event, but building a legacy—a loyal fanbase that returns year after year, a event that becomes a cherished fixture on the calendar. It’s the moment the final chequered flag falls, the accounts balance (although they sometimes don’t), and the social media feeds glow with fans already counting down to next year.
For a promoter, success isn’t just profit; it’s the creation of a temporary, thrilling world where speed, engineering, and human drama collide. They are the architects of adrenaline, and when it all comes together, the sound of a satisfied crowd is the sweetest victory of all.

EXCITING NEW MOTORSPORT OFFICIALLY KICKS OFF IN NAMIBIA
For pure fun an adrenaline, Gravel Drag racing has recently been introduced by the Swakopmund Motor Club, providing 4X4 entusiasts with a platform to strutt their stuff, away from the tarmac and in a more competitive environment.
Gravel drag racing is a raw and adrenaline-fueled motorsport where drivers compete side-by-side in a short, explosive sprint on a loose surface. Unlike paved drag strips, the unpredictable gravel demands a unique combination of aggressive power control and precise technique to maintain traction.
Key Characteristics:
· Challenge: Managing wheelspin is everything. Drivers use a "stage-and-burst" technique, balancing throttle and chassis setup to hook up and go.
· Atmosphere: Dust-filled, loud, and grassroots-oriented, often held in rural areas or at the coast. The race is as much against the track as it is the opponent beside you.
In short, it's a brutal, sliding battle for traction, combining the power of drag racing with the loose-surface chaos of rally.
Looking forward to seeing more of this is the new year. 👏👏
