For many years, we have organized racing events with clearly defined official starting times. Despite this, late arrivals continue to be a recurring issue.
This has become increasingly frustrating, not only for the organizers but also for participants who arrive on time, as we regularly receive complaints about delays and disrupted schedules.
Our goal is to create a fair, well-organized, and enjoyable experience for everyone involved, and punctuality plays a crucial role in achieving that. When races start late due to delayed arrivals, it affects the overall flow of the event, impacts time management, and reduces the quality of the experience for both racers and spectators.
To address this ongoing challenge, we are considering implementing measures that encourage punctuality and accountability.
One option being discussed is introducing a charge or penalty for racers who arrive after their allocated time but still wish to participate.
We would genuinely appreciate your input on this matter.
In your opinion, would charging late-arriving racers be a fair and effective way to promote punctuality and improve the overall running of our events?
