Three games. Three clean sheets.

Emiliano Martínez has had another impressive international break with Argentina, taking his tally to 46 clean sheets in 70 appearances for the national team.

That is an incredible record and another reminder of just how important Dibu has become for the Albiceleste. Now he returns to Chelsea.

El Dibu is back, and Alonso ball awaits.

🚨 𝐌𝐀𝐉𝐎𝐑 𝐁𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐆: 𝐂𝐑𝐈𝐒𝐓𝐈𝐀𝐍𝐎 𝐈𝐒 𝑵𝑶𝑻 𝐑𝐄𝐓𝐈𝐑𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐅𝐑𝐎𝐌 𝐏𝐎𝐑𝐓𝐔𝐆𝐀𝐋 — 𝐒𝐄𝐓 𝐓𝐎 𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐔𝐄! 💣🇵🇹

Official statement released by 𝐂𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐨 𝐑𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐝𝐨 ⬇️💥

"As promised, I want to explain directly what happened at the last national team camp”.
⠀
•After the World Cup, the FPF President insisted I reconsider leaving and asked my opinion on the current coach. I said he would be the right choice”.
⠀
“In August, the coach told me I was fundamental to his project: I'd play the first and last games. He suggested I skip the away trips, but I refused: a captain doesn't stay home. Simão Coutinho witnessed it”.
⠀
“On the day of the Norway game, he asked if I was ready to play 30 minutes. It wasn't in the plan, but I said yes. I warmed up from half-time and was never called upon. He had broken his word. Not greeting the fans afterwards was my fault, and I apologise”.
⠀
“48 hours later, with Coutinho present, we agreed he would tell the truth in the press room: the plan was his, I never asked for minutes, and making me warm up without playing was a mistake. He asked me for a hug and promised. I approved a short document with those notes”.
⠀
“That morning I had told the President and the coach: if you don't want me, just tell me. Both said no”.
⠀
“The press conference had nothing to do with what we agreed. I heard an aggression I did not deserve. It was the second time he broke his word”.
⠀
“In almost 25 years I have never interfered in a technical decision. But when my word is broken, my place is not there”.
⠀
“I apologise to my teammates for leaving. The responsibility is mine alone. The FPF should punish me with no mitigating circumstances; as captain, that's an aggravating factor”.
⠀
“There are talks of farewell games. But I learned, when I was hungry, that nobody gives anything to anyone. The national team, for me, means competing”.

“When my father died, I stayed until the next match was over. I did that for my country”.
⠀
“If I'm fit, after my suspension, I'll be available, as always, to compete and win for Portugal”.
⠀
“This is the absolute truth”.

Surely I’m not the only Chelsea fan looking forward to seeing Caicedo and Henderson together in the pivot against Bournemouth.

This could be an interesting combination.

Chelsea fans will be watching the injury situation closely as the Bournemouth game approaches.

Reece James is continuing his recovery from a hamstring issue, Cole Palmer is completing extra fitness work with a specialist, and João Pedro is working his way back from a knee injury.

None of the situations has been fully clarified yet, but the upcoming updates from Xabi Alonso should give us a better idea of who could be available.

Chelsea’s new generation is already showing huge value.

Morgan Rogers is now valued at €110m, making him Chelsea’s most valuable player.

Palmer and Caicedo follow at €100m each, while Estêvão and João Pedro are both valued at €80m.

With a squad worth around €1.08bn, Chelsea have one of the most valuable squads in England.

Sergio Agüero on Cole Palmer:

“Chelsea are a dangerous team. I played with Cole Palmer and I really like him. I think he’s spectacular.

“When I was there, he didn’t get many opportunities to play at Manchester City because there were a lot of top players who were also in great form.

“His move to Chelsea was a good thing because he needed to play. In my opinion, he’s Chelsea’s best player today. He can score or provide an assist at any moment and make the difference

Cole Palmer belongs in the England squad, and I don’t think it should even be a big discussion.

He has the talent, confidence and ability to make a difference in important games.

Right now, I can’t think of many English players more deserving of his place. Palmer should be there. End of story.
