*Egba Patriots crowned U15 Champions at Akesan Summer Camp Football Tournament*

Egba Patriots FC have emerged champions of the U15 category at the Akesan Summer Camp Football Tournament, clinching the title after a dramatic 2-2 draw and a 5-4 penalty shootout victory over Covenant FC in the final on Thursday.

*Road to the Final*

Egba Patriots kicked off the campaign with an impressive 2-0 win over Covenant FC in the opening group game. Oyewole John broke the deadlock with a sensational free-kick, while Solomon James converted a second-half penalty to secure the win.

The second group match ended in a 1-1 draw against Barking FA. Fasina Anuoluwapo put the Patriots ahead early, but Barking FA found a late equalizer to deny the team maximum points.

With 4 points from two games, Egba Patriots advanced to the semifinals.

In the semifinal showdown, the ASA Boys delivered a dominant performance, thrashing Zuma FC 6-0 to book a place in the final.

Covenant FC also reached the final after a 3-1 victory over New Breed FC in the semifinal fixture, setting up a much-anticipated rematch with Egba Patriots.

In a thrilling and hard-fought final, Covenant FC struck first, taking an early lead. However, Solomon James responded with an equalizer from the spot. The momentum shifted when Mufutau Jimoh fired Egba Patriots into the lead, but a penalty awarded to Covenant FC saw the game end 2-2 in regulation time.

With everything on the line in the shootout, Egba Patriots kept their cool and triumphed 5-4 on penalties, securing the championship and the ₦90,000 prize money.
