I hope some of you Manchester United fans won’t put the blame on Carrick after seeing how the board handled this transfer window. They failed to bring in all the reinforcements the squad clearly needed.

With Baleba added, they should also have signed a proper left-back and a solid centre-back who could form a reliable partnership with the defenders already here, especially with Champions League football coming up.

The squad might look deep on paper, but it isn’t solid. When opponents start exploiting these gaps, the blame belongs with INEOS, not Carrick.

One thing I envy about Chelsea is how they market their players at a very high value, unlike United. Since the time of the likes of Ronaldo, Manchester United have hardly sold a player for a high fee or near the amount they were bought for. It’s always very low or free.😤
