🚨🇵🇹 MAJOR BREAKING: CRISTIANO RONALDO IS NOT RETIRING FROM PORTUGAL — HE WILL CONTINUE!
Cristiano Ronaldo has finally broken his silence and revealed what happened during the latest Portugal national-team camp.
In a detailed statement, the Portugal captain explained his disagreement with the coaching staff, apologised to his teammates for leaving camp, and made his future with the national team crystal clear.
🗣️ Ronaldo said:
“After the World Cup, the FPF President asked me to reconsider my decision to leave and also asked for my opinion on the current coach. I told him that I believed he was the right choice.”
“During August, the coach told me I was fundamental to his project and that I would play the first and last games. He suggested that I skip the away matches, but I refused. A captain doesn't stay at home.”
“Before the Norway match, he asked if I was ready to play 30 minutes. I said yes. I warmed up from half-time but was never called upon. He had broken his word.”
“I apologise for not greeting the fans afterwards. That was my mistake.”
Ronaldo also addressed his departure from the camp:
“I apologise to my teammates for leaving. The responsibility is mine alone. The FPF should punish me without mitigating circumstances because, as captain, that should be considered an aggravating factor.”
But perhaps his biggest message was about his future with Portugal:
“There are talks about farewell games. But I learned when I was hungry that nobody gives anything to anyone. For me, the national team means competing.”
“When my father died, I stayed until the next match was over. I did that for my country.”
And then came the clearest statement of all:
“If I’m fit, after my suspension, I’ll be available, as always, to compete and win for Portugal.”
🇵🇹❤️ CRISTIANO RONALDO IS NOT DONE WITH PORTUGAL YET.
