The Bias & Fallacy Series
Part 42: Self-Serving Bias
When things go right, we often credit our skill, our intelligence, our strategy. When things go wrong, we quietly shift the blame to circumstances, people, or timing.
This is called self-serving bias, the mind’s tendency to protect ego by taking credit for success and distancing responsibility from failure.
Over time, it can distort growth. Because real improvement begins when you can honestly evaluate both your wins and your mistakes without changing the story to protect your image. Sometimes, the most important accountability is the one you take privately, when no one is watching.

One of the most misunderstood things about leadership is that intelligence alone is enough. It is not.
You may have the strategy.
You may have the ideas.
You may even know exactly where things should go.
But if people cannot clearly understand your direction, feel your conviction, or trust your communication, even the strongest vision can struggle to move forward.
This is why great leaders learn how to communicate with clarity, calmness, and intentionality, especially during uncertainty, pressure, and difficult conversations.
Leadership is not proven only by what you know. It is also revealed by your ability to help others see it, believe it, and move with it.
If you want to communicate your ideas with clarity, confidence, and executive presence when it matters most, then RapidPSII™ was designed for you.

Sometimes, the biggest limitation is not your background, your appearance, or your condition.
Sometimes, it is the story you have been telling yourself about why others deserve success more than you do.
My words for you today: Follow Up
You send one message, get no reply, then immediately assume the person is not interested.
Meanwhile, people are busy, distracted, overwhelmed, or they simply forgot to respond. Not every silence is rejection.
As long as you are respectful, following up is not disturbance. Sometimes, it is the reminder people need before they finally make a decision.
A lot of entrepreneurs walk away too early because they are afraid of looking desperate. However, business often rewards consistency more than pride.
The fortune is often in the follow-up.
Progress often begins when you stop waiting for perfect conditions and start using what you have.

There is a difference between preparation and postponement.
At some point, I started noticing that many people are no longer preparing to move forward. They are preparing to feel safe enough to move. More books. More courses. More planning. More waiting for the “right time.”
Sometimes, the need to be fully ready is the very thing keeping people stuck. Not because they are lazy or incapable, but because action feels risky when everything is not yet perfect.
The truth is, progress has never belonged only to people with ideal conditions. It often belongs to people who decided to move with what they had, learn on the way, and adjust when necessary.
Not everything called preparation is progress.
Sometimes, the delay is not a lack of resources, opportunity, or potential.
It is the habit of waiting for perfect conditions before taking the next step.
Start with what you have, progress often begins with what is already available.

The greatest b@ttles are often not around you, but within you.
The way we think can quietly shape the direction of our lives.
A shift in thinking can change the way we move through life.
My words for you today: Building a Team
The objective is not to manage every task forever. The objective is to develop capable people, efficient systems, and sustainable structures that continue operating even in your absence.
Sustainable business growth is not defined only by increased revenue. It is also measured by the level of freedom, flexibility, and balance you create for your time, energy, and personal life.

Many strong businesses are built by leaders who remain teachable, even after success, rather than by those who always feel the need to sound certain.
