Government Secondary School Afaha Eket

t became expedient to Move the School to Grace Bill Road as a temporal site of the School. This event gave rise to the change of the School name to Comprehensive Secondary School, Afaha Eket. The aim of the establishment of the School was to produce a Child who would be well vast in vocational and commercial skills. On the other hand, the Teachers Training College which occupied the Grace Bill Road was moved to Ndon Eyo in Onna, now Senior Service School, Ndon Eyo till date. Late Governor U.J.Esuene, during his nine years in office had a vision to establish a University in Eket. A site was sought in Etebi Idung Iwak and the buildings were set up. Sadly, the glorious dream of the late Governor came to a halt because his tenure came to an end. Comprehensive Secondary School was relocated to its permanent site meant for the supposed University in Eket. The name finally changed to Government Secondary School -Eket during the 6-3-3-4 system. The name remains basically so because the government took over the students.
