GOVERNOR RADDA MAKES FRESH APPOINTMENTS, TASKS APPOINTEES ON BUILDING YOUR FUTURE AGENDA

Governor Malam Dikko Umaru Radda has approved the appointment of seven persons into key positions in the Katsina State Government, charging them to bring their experience, competence and sense of responsibility to bear in advancing the administration’s Building Your Future Agenda. Among the new appointees are Sheikh Dr. Nasiru Abdulrahman Funtua, appointed Chairman of the Katsina State Pilgrims Welfare Board, and Dr. Sirajo Yakubu Batagarawa and Mallam Abubakar Kabir Kusada, appointed Special Advisers to the Governor.

The Governor also appointed Alhaji Shamsuddeen Surajo Wowo Dutsin-Ma as Director-General of the Katsina State Erosion and Watershed Management Agency (KEWMA), Alhaji Muhammad Saifuddeen Yakubu Musa as Commander-General of the Katsina State Hisbah Board, Alhaji Ma’aruf Shehu Sanin Kawo Dandume as Senior Special Assistant, and Alhaji Lawal Ibrahim Musa as a member of the Pilgrims Welfare Board.

Congratulating the appointees, Governor Radda described their appointments as a call to service, urging them to put the interests of Katsina State and its people first. He charged them to uphold accountability, diligence, accessibility and measurable results, while working with relevant stakeholders to translate government policies and programmes into tangible benefits for citizens.

The Significance of Katsina State: 99 Days to 2027 General Elections

Katsina State is still a strategic State in Nigeria's political ecosystem. That is why the President's campaign organisations are giving the State considerable attention.

Government Tompolo deliberately selected Katsina State to launch the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement activities. The Women's Wing of the President Tinubu also kick-start their activities in Katsina State. This is because, in the 2023 presidential election, Katsina State produced the 2nd highest votes for APC in Northern Nigeria after Kano State, with more than 400,000 votes. No politician can toy with a vital State like Katsina State.

INEC Nigeria has released the registered voters of the top ten States in Nigeria. The statistics placed Katsina State at the 4th position in Nigeria with 3,876,051 registered voters. This is why the APC is interested in Katsina State, and H.E. Mal Dikko Umaru Radda, PhD, has been up and about, campaigning for the party's candidates across all positions.

WORLD BANK MOVES TO ADOPT KATSINA’S COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT MODEL — GOV. RADDA

Governor Malam Dikko Umaru Radda has disclosed that the World Bank has expressed interest in adopting Katsina State’s Community Development Programme (CDP) framework as a model for possible replication in other states across Nigeria. The Governor said the interest followed a recent engagement with a World Bank delegation that recognised the programme’s grassroots impact and community-based approach to delivering government interventions.

Speaking at the inauguration of the Dikko Mai da Alkhairi da Alkhairi movement, Governor Radda commended CDP members for helping bridge the gap between government and communities. He stressed that the programme was established to benefit all citizens regardless of political affiliation, while also urging communities to embrace the Katsina Tree-Plant-One-T initiative, which targets about two million trees within one year.

The movement, comprising community development leaders and CLOs from the 361 wards, pledged continued support for the administration and grassroots mobilisation. APC State Chairman Dr. Bashir Gambo Saulawa highlighted key interventions in education, healthcare, roads, irrigation and youth empowerment, while Governor Radda reaffirmed the importance of community ownership, digitalisation, transparency and effective grassroots engagement in sustaining development across Katsina State.

LEADERSHIP MUST BE ANCHORED ON RESPONSIBILITY, REFLECTION AND ACTION — GOV. RADDA

Governor Malam Dikko Umaru Radda has called for leadership anchored on responsibility, authenticity, reflection and effective action, stressing that governance must translate into measurable improvements in citizens’ lives. Speaking at the 4th Executive Leadership Dialogue in Katsina, the Governor said, “Leadership is not a title; it is a trust. It is not about privilege; it is about responsibility.”

Highlighting his administration’s Building Your Future Agenda, Governor Radda outlined major interventions in security, healthcare, education, agriculture, infrastructure, youth and women empowerment, and digital governance. He cited the Community Watch Corps, healthcare upgrades across the 361 wards, major road projects, more than ₦120 billion invested in education, entrepreneurship support exceeding ₦10 billion, and the expansion of digital governance across 118 MDAs.

Governor Radda stressed that the achievements are building blocks toward a secure, prosperous and inclusive Katsina where “peace reigns, agriculture feeds, healthcare heals, education empowers and every citizen has the chance to prosper.” He urged participants at the leadership dialogue to move beyond deliberations and develop practical solutions to contemporary challenges, declaring: “Let this dialogue be more than a deliberation. Let it be a catalyst for action.”

The history of mankind is a history of betrayal and ingratitude by some human beings. The most surprising thing about betrayal is that it comes from people close to you, while ingratitude comes from people whom you assisted or lifted from sunlight to shade.

Any human being who does not reflect or think about yesterday to shape and guide his behaviour and actions today is bound to behave like some politicians in Katsina State.

A PROBLEM SOLVER: MAL DIKKO

H.E. Mal. Dikko Umaru Radda, PhD, is a problem solver, not a complainant. Before he became the Governor of Katsina State, he had been in the corridors of power, from the Local Government to the Chief of Staff to the Governor & DG, SMEDAN.

Since he assumed office on 29th May 2023, he has been focused and determined, solving all the problems of Katsina State. As a Sociologist, Mal Dikko Umaru Radda, PhD, is aware that his task is to make the world a better place to live in line with the ideals of Auguste Comte, the founding father of Sociology.

Without noise, the administration is delivering results and dividends of democracy to the nooks and crannies of Katsina State. No LGA or sector is left behind in the transformative projects of Mal. Dikko. This is the biggest advantage of voting for an educated person. Katsina State is known as a centre of learning and education.
