πŸ–ŠοΈ *COMMENTARY*
The Gospel of John begins with a powerful declaration of Christ's divinity. Unlike the other Gospels that start with Jesus birth or ministry, John takes us back to eternity past, emphasizing that Jesus is the eternal Word of God, the Creator of all things, and the true Light of the world. Jesus existed before time began. He was not created but has always been with God. Jesus is not just a messenger of God; He is God Himself. His Role in Creation: β€œAll things were made through Him." Jesus is the Creator, giving life to all things.

Jesus is the Life and the Light of Men (John 1:4-5). He is the source of life, both physically and spiritually. Without Him, there is no true life. He is the Light that shines in the darkness.

John the Baptist was sent as a witness to prepare the way for
Jesus, but the world did not recognize the Light. (John 1:6-10).

Despite being the Creator, Jesus was rejected by the very people He came to save.

Today, as we have read, we must:

1. Recognize Jesus as the Eternal Word: We must acknowledge Jesus as God and Creator.

2. Walk in the Light: As followers of Christ, we must reject darkness and let His light shine through us.
3. Be a Witness: Like John the Baptist, we are called to testify about Christ and lead others to Him.

πŸ–ŠοΈ *COMMENTARY*
Genesis 8:11-22 describes a turning point in Noah's life -and in human history. After the flood, the waters receded, and God gave Noah and his family a fresh start. This passage teaches us about waiting on God, worshiping Him in thanksgiving, and trusting in His promises.
βœ“ *WAITING ON GOD'S TIMING:* β€œAnd the dove returned to him in the evening, and, behold, a freshly plucked olive leaf was in her mouth. So Noah knew that the waters had subsided from the earth." - When facing life's challenges, seek God's guidance before making decisions. Trust that God will reveal the right time for every step in your life. Patience in God's presence leads to greater blessings.
βœ“ *RESPONDING WITH WORSHIP AND GRATITUDE:*
Genesis 8:20. Noah's first act after leaving the ark was to worship God. He recognized that it was God's mercy that saved him and his family. His offering was a sign of gratitude and commitment to God. A thankful heart honours God. We should worship God with a grateful heart in every season of life.
βœ“ *TRUSTING IN GOD'S PROMISES:* Genesis 8:22. When
facing uncertainties, trust in God's promises. Know that God's provision will always be available when you obey. Live with faith, knowing that God's covenant remains forever.

πŸ–ŠοΈ *COMMENTARY*
Jesus sees soul-harvest as a divine business that needs urgency. Most often, we wait until there is a special Church programme on soul-winning before we embark on evangelism: two-by-two evangelism outreach, October enlargement Campaign, etc. Jesus said that such waiting is not necessarily amidst vast field of souls ripped for harvest. Look at your place of work and see souls that need salvation. The same is applicable to schools hospitals, markets, inside commercial buses and taxis. We have ripped souls for harvest in our place of work, among our colleagues and friends -even in our homes among our children, house helps, and kinsfolk, etc. It is easier to preach and convert these relations than a complete stranger; it is also easier to win one soul by talking to an individual twenty times than to talk to twenty persons one time.

We need to make soul-harvest our priority, and give ourselves to the work of evangelism. Jesus had such priority that when he saw a ripped soul for harvest in a Samaritan woman, He went for her not minding that he was badly hungry. When the disciples persuaded him to eat, His response was that his food was to do the work of God and finish it. Vast field of human souls are all around us ripped for harvest. We must plunge into work for there is limited time and ephemeral opportunities. This must be done now, for night cometh when no man can work.

πŸ–ŠοΈ *COMMENTARY*
Freedom is the opposite of bo***ge. When Israel lived in bo***ge in Egypt they had no will of their own. They had to do what their masters always wanted of them. They had no freedom whatsoever until God delivered them from the land of bo***ge.

Similarly, today we celebrate our (Nigerian) national independence from colonialism. We became independent as a nation in 1960. Prior to our independence, we were like the children of Israel living in bo***ge and by detects of the imperialists who plundered our natural resources. But God did not allow us to live this way forever. By His mighty power, as in the case of Israel, He led us out of the bo***ge of colonial rule into freedom and independence as a nation. Glory!

Without God, our concept of freedom degenerates into selfishness and such vices as, corruption, tribalism, insurgencies, etc., real freedom under God can only exist hand in hand with responsibility. Today, Nigeria asks "what will you do with your freedom?" Our collective responsibility is that in the years ahead our nation will be better.

Irrespective of what we see now, we pray, hope and believe for a better country (Nigeria). You are God's change agent. God bless the land of our birth. God bless the land of our responsibility. God bless Nigeria

πŸ–ŠοΈ *COMMENTARY*
Our God is more than enough! Genesis 26:1-6 tells us how God instructed Isaac to remain in Gerar during a severe famine in the land (verse 2). He was specifically ordered not to move to Egypt like his father, Abraham (Gen. 12:10).

As children of God, let us trust God for supply at all times even at hard times like we are currently experiencing in Nigeria. God is willing to supply our "needs according to His riches in glory" (Phil. 4:19). Paul writes in II Corinthians 8:9 that "For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sake He became poor, so that you, through His poverty, might become rich." Our Nation's economy might be dwindling, but God is more than enough for His children at all times. The New Living Translation of Psalm 37:18, 19 is very exciting. It says: Day by day, the Lord takes care of the innocent, and they will receive an inheritance that lasts forever. They will not be disgraced in hard times; even in famine they will have more than enough.

God has more than enough miracles for you. His power is more than enough for your healings, protection and supplies.

PSALM 126

πŸ–ŠοΈ *COMMENTARY*
Life is not a competition; stop competing. It is not a wrestling match; stop scheming to undo yourselves. No one excels only by struggling, but when one receives favour from God and man, his years of struggle are terminated.

From our text today, we observed that Rachel, Jacob's preferred wife, was barren, but her older sister, Leah, who incidentally shared the same husband as her, was fruitful; she gave birth to many sons. This provoked the envy of Rachel, who accused her husband of causing her predicament. In the spirit of rivalry and competition, she gave her maid Bilhah to her husband to raise children for her. Bilhah gave birth to a second son and Rachel named him Nephtali, which means wrestle, fight or struggle. In Hebrew culture, names often reflect a situation, prayer or divine encounters. The boy's name became a reminder of her own struggle with her sister. Gen.30:8 (NET).

As proof that something was wrong with the name, the father, Jacob, in his dying bed, began the reversal of the name, declaring
Nephtali an epitome of freedom and graceful words (Gen.49:21).
Many years later, Moses followed it up with a prophecy that
Nephtali should overflow with favour and not with struggles.

Instead of developing unhealthy rivalry and competition, desire
favour, pray and await its manifestation. It is the edge we need over our rivals.

πŸ–ŠοΈ *COMMENTARY*
God does not fail. No matter how long a condition has lasted, or how impossible the solution seems, He remains able to heal, restore, and deliver.

The writer shares a personal testimony of battling hernia for over ten years. Doctors recommended surgery, but he believed God for healing without the knife. After years of prayer and unwavering faith, God stepped in and healing came supernaturally. That is the power of the Able God!

Similarly, Hannah in the Bible was mocked for her barrenness. Her rival, Peninnah, provoked her continually. But Hannah remained faithful in prayer and kept pouring out her heart before God. At the appointed time, God answered and Samuel was born.

Delay is not denial. The enemy may try to use time and shame to silence your hope, but God never forgets. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

Whatever long-standing affliction or stagnation you're facing, lift it up to the Able God today. He will show up in power.

God is able no matter how difficult, how dead, or how hopeless the situation seems. He can turn things around in ways that defy logic and rewrite the story when all seems lost.

Lazarus had been dead for four days. The stone was sealed, and hope was buried. But when Jesus arrived, He commanded, "Roll away the stone." Even though Martha doubted because of the smell, Jesus reminded her, "If you believe, you will see the glory of God."

Jesus lifted His voice, called Lazarus forth, and the man
who was dead came back to life. That same power is available to you today.

Maybe your dreams, marriage, health, or finances seem buriedβ€”Jesus can bring them back to life. He doesn't need permission from your environment, background, or circumstances. He only needs your faith.

Never forget: The grave doesn't intimidate the One who conquered it.

πŸ–ŠοΈ *COMMENTARY*
Commitment is the state or quality of being dedicated to a cause, activity, etc. Therefore, "Total commitment to God" means that Jesus is our sole authority, our guiding light, and our unerring compass. Being committed to Christ means making Christ our first priority, being faithful and fruitful; it means being a servant. A committed Believer's
slogan is simple and direct: "For me to live is Christ" (Phil. 1:21).

Total commitment is required from us because God is committed to His people. No room for partial commitment, because partial commitment is no commitment. The Laodicean's Church had a partial commitmentβ€”they were "...neither cold nor hot" (Rev. 3:15, 16). There are ways we show commitment to God:
βœ“ Daily Prayer. Learn to make prayer a priority
βœ“ Reading the Bible daily. God's Word strengthens our relationship with God.
βœ“ Giving our tithes and offerings regularly–it opens
doors for more blessings.
βœ“ Personal Evangelism –it leads to joy
βœ“ Regular attendance in Church activities etc--- it builds our faith.

Are you committed? Both Jesus and the Apostles were committed to God's assignment on earth.

πŸ–ŠοΈ *COMMENTARY*
The victorious Christian life can be described as the life that is lived, by faith, in a moment-by-moment surrender to God. The word "Victorious" connotes winning or triumph. Therefore, a victorious Christian life is a way of life, a life of consistent victory over sin as well as thriving in the face of difficulties and challenging situations in life.

The following are some keys to a victorious Christian living:

β€’ *Faith:* A victorious Christian life is rooted in faith. Hebrews 11 tells the stories of people who were victorious through faith

β€’ *Love:* According to our Saviour, Jesus, love should be the ruling principle of a Christian's life. He said, through love for one another, His followers will be identified (John 13:35)

β€’ *Prayer:* A life of prayer is a key to a godly life. Form a prayer habit.

β€’ *Obedience:* Obedience has been defined as β€œCompliance with an order." Obedience to God is a key to a godly life

β€’ *Forgiveness:* Forgiving others is a key to a godly life (Matt. 6: 14, 15; Eph. 4:32)

Beloved, never allow sin to rule over your life. Instead, walk according to the leading of the Holy Spirit (Rom. 8:1).
