NIGERIAN YOUTH; WAKE UP! NO TIME FOR APATHY.

When the 2019 general election comes around, what will you do?
A) trudge like a snail to the polling unit to cast your vote?
B) leaf through the manifestos with a growing sense of doom, concluding that there is nobody to vote for?
C) go clubbing, waking late the next morning with the dim realization that something quite important might have happened yesterday?
If your answer is 'c', then accept this SORRY from me hole heatedly.
Attempting to challenge youth apathy means recognizing that it's a problem that need to be solved. Nigerian Youth, we don't need anybody to teach us about why we should vote or who we should vote for, all we need is the understanding of the Workability of Democracy. Going to vote does not make us partisan, one can on the day of election vote, with little or no knowledge about who and the party he/she is voting for.
Today, The Not Too Young To Run Bill is on the process of being pass into law, now tell me, how many youth are aware of this, and how many youth support the Bill.
How many Youth today have at least 50% knowledge of the day to day happenings in the National Assembly, even in their respective State House of Assembly.
How many Youth today are ready to pick up the Local, State and Federal government policy, go through it and critise it when needful
How many Youth are ready to ask the Senator representing their respective Senatorial district "which Bill have you sponsor ever since you got to the Senate"
The earlier we seek to participate in every decision making process and police development of this Country, the better, not just for us, but also the unborn generation if at all there is any.
Have you not notice it? That the only Ministry they manage to create for the Youth is Called, "Ministry Of Youth And Sport", by implications, the Youth are supposed to be playing while they rule the Country.
My humble suggestions to all the Governors and the President is that, the above mentioned Ministry should be Rename to "MINISTRY OF YOUTH AND ECONOMIC PLANNING / DEVELOPMENT". And a new Ministry be created Called "Ministry Of Old People And Sport Development". The reason is simply, they need sports much more than we the Youth do.

OUR COUNTRY, OUR ANGUISHED

It pains me greatly as I write in the agony of my HEART.
why should I keep silent and sleep while my COUNTRY is Languishing, depress and getting confuse every day,
NO tell me, why should I keep silent and sleep?
Have you not seen?
That disaster upon disaster have been proclaimed, the whole land has been devastated, the dinars and blame game, the deception.
Have we not sold our birthright?
It's a shameful thing to be a maid in my Country and a foreigner my boss.
Why do we oppress the poor to be rich?
Why not we stop screaming education is a right and not a privilege?
Why don't we accept discrimination as a norm and not outrage?
Why do we allow race and religion to be the cause of our economic bankruptcy?
Why do we send our Country into the abyss of darkness and shame?
Can't you see the whole world laughing at us saying "oh giant of Africa"?
What do we whine and dine for?
Why do we allow Aliens to own homes while we own houses?
Why do we go hungry and thirsty for Aliens to eat and drink?
Do you call that hospitality?
Why can't we consider our ways and make our path straight?
Can we walked in the light and not in darkness?
Can we vanquish the fiery darts of fear, hatred and anger?
Can we sow courage, perseverance and love?
Can we replace selfishness with selflessness?
Should we cry out in anguish or in triumph?
Rise up ooh NIGERIANS, Oh my dear and follow YOUTH!! We are in the Eleventh hour.
For the last one hour will tell if we will cry or laugh.

NIGERIA YOUTH, TODAY IS THAT TOMORROW

Do we really want to make a change or improvement in our Country?
Why do we constantly tell ourselves that if things were different, we could have done this or that?
Nothing is going to change unless we initiate the change. Blaming others and blaming circumstances will not make situation better. Dreaming about a lifestyle, about a new car or house is not enough. Wishing we were WEALTHY or HEALTHY and at the same time, not believing you will ever achieve any of these wishes will only make situation worse.
What we feel or believe deep inside of us are more powerful than all our resolutions and wishes. We have to work on convincing ourselves that these things are possible. When we are convinced, we will act differently. If we need a better NIGERIA, then we have to start right now, not in some undefined future.
We cheat and frustrate ourselves anytime we procrastinate, when we believe that if circumstances were different, we would have been able to do this or that! We must act right now, and only us (NIGERIANS) can and will do this, nobody will come from another country to it for us. We must devote time and effort to make plans for things to work forward.
There is always a subconscious inner resistance to taking actions even when we want to do most times.
So, are we going to do something about this Country, or just read this article and go on with our lives? If we don't act now, tomorrow will be more or less like today, and the day after too and so on and on.
And so, what are we going to do?
We all have to redefine our own lives and future, for nobody will do it for us.

"PATRIOTISM" THE UNCHANGING ROLE OF NIGERIAN YOUTH

"ask not, what your country can do for you, rather, ask what you can do for your country".
Young people are the most crucial segment of the society; Youth are social actors of development and can serve as a pressure group to lobby government in defining their priorities.
Permit me my dear readers to inform you that apart from being the leaders of tomorrow (Youth) you are equally the partner of today, because you need the experience of today to enable you lead tomorrow effectively.
We the youth have some responsibility towards our country, we must participate actively in the Emancipation of our follow Youth from Non-inclusion in policy making and act of governance. It takes just a minute or few seconds to expose an intelligent human to the most inevitable and powerful truth in life, but it takes years to prove the same. And here we are, alive and powerful. So let's look around and listen to that cry of our MOTHER (Nigeria), which is unheard, choose your role and act appropriately.
We have to be honest and hard working, We have to stand against any social illness instead of blaming the system. Nigeria Youth should come together and with our toil, let us mould our nation for a better tomorrow, we have to use our brains, strength, creativity and imagination to serve our darling Nation. Instead of asking, who's going to fight the corruption? We should do it ourselves, instead of ruining the country, we should develop it.
I salute all those youths of the past and the present who made, and are making efforts to make a difference.
Unfortunately today, majority of the youth choose to spend their days and time doing drugs and armed robbery, they spend their night partying and living up their destiny in-between women legs. Others have no vision, and if they do have dreams, they don't have the drive to make any attempt at achieving them.
We must gain control of our Nation, we must motivate ourselves, we must teach responsibility and gold setting. I fear if we don't, we will soon be supporting an entire generation of waywardness. Let us answer the call of PATROITISM, rather than blaming the system.

THE LABOUR OF OUR HERO'S PAST

When I look at Nigeria, many question come to my mind, many times I ask myself, what will happen if Alhaji sir Ahmadu Bello rise up and see what is happening, many times I ask myself what will happen if Funmilayo Ransome Kuti, Dr Nnamdi Azikwe, Chief Anthony Enahoro, Margaret Ekpo, Chief Obafemi Awolowo, Herbert Macaulay and the host of others rise up and see what is happening, because what they will be confronted with, is a Nigeria were the IGBO man can't sleep in the north with his two eyes close.
Is a Nigeria that's unsettled, they is a war going on here, but it's not on the front page of our newspaper, because we don't even control our media. As I write to you, the North and the East is at war, but we only talk about it mutedly, in all the state of the federation, it is not better, Nigeria is at war with herself, this is what they will be confronted with.
They will be confronted with a Nigeria which does not know herself, a Nigeria where young men and women has no LOVE and interest for their own Nation- State. They will be confronted with a Country were it citizens are constantly being humiliated in and outside their homes.
They will see only but a country who's citizens has lost their self pride, a Nigeria were home made goods don't sale because there have on them "made in Nigeria".
They will be confronted with a Nigeria which does not tell her own story and don't even know her story, what a pity?
They will be confronted with young men and women who make their money in the country but spend it outside the country.
Hmm, this and many more are the tragedy of Nigeria.
Through out the ages, the battle has always been the battle of the mind, however, if our minds are conquered, then we are going nowhere. Am so sorry my dear readers, we have to remind ourselves of this reality.
But in all this, I still believe in a stronger, United and more prosperous country.

We can and must shape them according to our needs and desires, the time has come when we the young people of Nigeria must live Creatively, Must Build new and better Homes, must bring new forms to birth in LITERATURE, LANGUAGE, ARTS, MUSIC METHODS and tools of INDUSTRY, when we must dream of PURER and JUSTER laws and promote better Health.
"we must secure bare living first before we can think of LUXURIES of Life"
Nigeria is a land of beauty. And it sons and daughters must reveal its concealed beauties through the use of pencil and colour.
We the youth of Nigeria, like the Knights of old, and like the militant youth of MODERN RUSSIA. Who volunteer to save their society at all cost, must Pledge ourselves, to give ourselves completely to the cause of EMANCIPATING NIGERIA. The love of Nigeria must consume us. The zeal for her emancipation must be our food and drink. We are either Nigerian or Nothing. To the degree at which Nigeria is saved, to that degree shall we be saved.
Our God is he who cares for our homes, our women hood, our children, the moral manhood of our race, our Economic welfare, our Health, and our political freedom. Who respect the beauty of the black man no less than he is interested in the other races of mankind.
This God speaks to us through the fruit of our land, through the animals that inhabit it, through the love and fellowship of our darling mothers and friends. We the youth must realize that we are serving this cause through the activities of our movement. We must realize that the whole of Nigeria is of supreme value to God.
