Nelson Abiam has signed for Enugu Rangers on a two-year deal following the expiration of his contract at Nasarawa United.

🏷️ Abiam began the 2023 abridged season as a Wikki Tourists player but left for Nasarawa United during the mid-season transfer window on a short team deal until the end of the season.

🏷️ The free-kick specialist has now officially signed every paperwork and will represent the Flying Antelopes for the next two seasons.

NNL Wants Referees Body To Examine The Performance Of Referee Akachukwu

The Nigeria National League ,NNL is demanding the Nigeria Football Referees Association ,NRA to review the overall conduct of referee Akachukwu Igwebuike and his co arbiters for their handling of the NNL Super 8 game between DMD of Maidugiri and EFCC FC of Abuja decided at the Jay -Jay Okocha Stadium, Ogwashi-Uku on Wednesday 5,July 2023.

Akachukwu and his other umpires have received significant criticism for their performance during the encounter which was the last Northern Conference match played simultaneously with that of Katsina United and Kano Pillars.

Reports received and monitored on the match said referee Akachukwu made questionable calls, issued several yellow cards which gave undue advantage to one of the team.

Nigeria National league therefore, is praying the leadership of the NRA to reassess the conducts of Akachukwu at the pitch and the roles he was alledged to have played , before, during and after the match .

Akachukwu was said to have awarded an aledged dubious penalty which was later ballooned over the bar by DMD.

Speaking to NNL media ,Head of Operations ,Mr Emmanuel Adesanya believes that proper appraisal of the conducts of the referees will go a long way in checking the insinuations making the rounds on the match umpires.

Other referees NNL wants a thorough look in, are Ayodeji Adebiyi,Charway Wilfred ,both Assistant referees and Promise Amadi who was the 4th official.
