Topic: SEEKING THOSE THINGS ABOVE

Text: Col. 3:1-2.

If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

This is the kind of massage we need now just after we have celebrated the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It's a challenge, that if truly we have died and resurrected with Him we are bound to look up, to search for only those things above at the right hand of God.

Many people are still confused about those things above. What exactly are those things which we can find at right hand of God? The Bible is saying that these things come from the right hand of God where Christ Himself dwells.

First of all, we should know that such things are things of the spirit not carnal things. Those things must be holy things not defiling things, they must be things of light not of darkness, and they must be righteous not sinful.

It's a call for a shifting, from old to new, from bad to good. In the subsequent verses it began to mention things we need to remove, fornication, uncleanliness, inordinate affection, covetousness, anger, malice, lying and evil communication. It said that all these belong to the very old man that was dead and buried.

In Galatians 5:19-23, the Bible have already compared them side by side, that we may know things to abandon and things to seek. Those things above was described as the fruits of the Holy Spirit. Therefore as we put off the old things listed above, let us also seek and pursue the things of the right hand of God such as love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness and faith.

Most atimes it's clear to us but we don't know how to go about seeking the things above, but the word of God has given us every guide, it's just for us to discover them and follow them. In Phil.4:8, it tells us that we should set our hearts on things true, honest, just, pure, lovely, of good report, virtuous and praise offering. These things originated from the right hand of God. They always exist there but only those who seek them can find them.

The question now is, have you been risen with Christ? Then fashion yourself to seek those things in Christ at the right hand side of God and it shall be well you in Jesus name amen!

Topic: THE SPIRIT OF HOLINESS IS THE POWER OF RESURRECTION!

Text: Romans 1:4.

When we sum together the following facts from the Bible:
-that it was defilement caused by disobedience that brought death upon man.
-that God Himself lives forever because of Holiness.
-that God made us in His image and likeness that we may live forever.
-that the first instruction God gave at the beginning of the journey of man's restoration is 'walk before me and be thou perfect ( Holy).
-that the tree of Life is the tree of Holiness
-that the Rivers of the living water is the Holy Spirit.
-that Jesus the standard of Holiness of God defeated Death through Resurrection from death by the power of Holiness.
-that without Holiness no eyes shall see the Lord and seperation from God is eternal Death.

Therefore summing all these things together we are sure that Holiness is indispensable, unsubstitutable and the final condition of God for man to live. It was His first instruction from the beginning and His second instruction for the restoration of man.

However men have tried in their various generations to compromise and confuse the Holiness of God and to turn it to something else, but the Bible said that the foundation of God is stands sure and anyone that cals upon Him must be Holy.

In another place the Bible said "let God be true but every man a liar" to silence those who prove their errors right because of results, reminding them that good results are not proofs that their works are perfect but every work must still pass through the fire of the truth: the standard of the Holiness of God.

Hence now it is expected that every Christian return to the Holiness of God. When Jesus said strive to enter He was actually saying strive to be Holy. Holiness is the doctrine of Jesus and He told the Jews this doctrine is not mine but His who sent me and until you want to do His will you cannot know it.

How much does it hungry you to be like Jesus; in His pattern of life, in His death and resurrection? As you pursue to be like Him you will satisfy the Holiness of God through the power which belongs only to Him.

May God use this to restore all of us to His perfect Holiness.

Topic: THE THOUGHT OF FOOLISHNESS IS SIN

Text: Prov. 24:9.

When Jesus was mentioning things that defiles a man in the book of Mark 7:21-23, it hits my imagination to see that foolishness was mentioned among other things. When I looked more closely I discovered that it was mentioned at the end in way to show that it is even the mother of all the others mentioned. Because time would fail Him to call all the children of foolishness one after the other He simply summarized them in one FOOLISHNESS.

Foolishness is the mother of all sins and it starts from the heart and it defiles the heart. For example the Bible said that foolishness makes a fool to think that there's no God and for that reason he goes ahead to do whatever he wants Psalm 53:1. The highest thing foolishness does to a fool is to make him or her to neglect God.

Again it makes a son to forget the instructions of his father Prov. 15:5. The second thing foolishness does to the fool is to make him neglect the instructions of God our Father. Those instructions are even for our own good and therefore foolishness makes a fool to offend his own self. It makes a fool to be careless about his own soul. God said it not a pleasure to me that you should die and perish, do my instructions and live but a fool said I want death let me die let me perish, very terrible.

When the Bible said the wages of sin is death it was actually saying the wages of foolishness is death. It was sin that brought the sons of men to the level of beasts, the Bible said in Ecc.3:16-20 that what happeneth to the beasts happeneth to men which is death. It takes a away the dignity of man before the sight of God Psalm 73:22.

Now therefore, can't you see that the people of this generation are generally guilty of sin because foolishness? Can't you see that the mode dressings both of men and women these days are controlled by foolishness. God made dress to our nakedness but we wear dresses today yet we are naked - foolishness. In the world generally today foolishness has succeed over wisdom even in the churches. People don't want to hear the word of God which is the word of wisdom again but they lies and false prophecy and that's why their prayers have become abomination before God Prov.28:9.

Foolishness means I don't care, it's what the Bible called simplicity, it doesn't matter, choosing the easiest way, loving pleasure, thinking that God is less concerned over anything, modernizing or improving the principles of God to suit one's self etc.
Let's avoid foolishness, because a foolish man is defiled because he willingly hated wisdom that's his condemnation and that would take him to hell.
There are a lot of things which the Bible said concerning the fools and foolishness, in the subsequent sessions we will still see them, God bless you!
