▪️ After initially being restricted due to COVID-19 precautions, he made his full debut against Club Brugge and scored his first United goal in a 5–0 win.

Seriously, Michael Carrick was pushing for a left-back and a striker, while Manchester United also wanted a left-winger, yet they ended the window without signing any of them.

For me, that makes the expectations on Carrick even more important because you cannot leave obvious gaps in the squad and then expect the manager to somehow produce a finished team.

If he gets United comfortably into the top half, that is a decent job, but getting European football would show he has done something even more impressive with what he was given.

And if Carrick somehow takes this squad all the way back into the Champions League places, his work deserves serious credit because he would have achieved it without getting everything he wanted in the transfer window.

Maybe the real question is not what Carrick should achieve with this squad, but how much more he could achieve if the club actually gave him the tools he asked for. ❤️🙏

I genuinely admire what Man City have done in the market this summer, especially with the midfield signings.

But I don’t know how to explain it… I’m just not scared of that midfield at all.

Anderson, Enzo and Byyoud are all very good players, but I honestly don’t believe that midfield is better than what we’ve signed or what we already have.

The boy was everywhere.

The way he was receiving the ball under pressure, turning and carrying it forward… you could see the confidence. He wasn’t hiding. He wanted the ball and kept asking for it.

And those little moments where he wins it back, drives through midfield and suddenly United are attacking again? That’s what caught my eye.

Mainoo looked comfortable today.

Not flashy for the sake of it. Just proper midfield quality.

If Kobbie keeps playing with that confidence, we’ve got a serious player on our hands.

🚨Carlos Baleba asked why he rejected Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Real Madrid for Manchester United:

🗣️ Reporter: “Carlos, you had proposals from Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and even Real Madrid. Why did you wait for Manchester United?”

🗣️ Baleba: “Because I knew where I wanted to play. When Manchester United came for me, it was not a decision I needed to think about for a long time. I had other big proposals, very good clubs, but I kept saying no because I was waiting for United.

“I wanted to play at Old Trafford. I wanted to experience what it means to wear this shirt and be part of this club. For me, it wasn’t just about joining a big team. It was about joining the club I felt was right for my career.

“I’ve also spoken a lot with Amad. He told me so many things about Manchester United, the supporters, the dressing room and what it feels like to play for this club. That made me even more certain.
