CANCER AWARENESS 🎗️

Cancer doesn't always announce itself. Sometimes, early detection can make a tremendous difference.

If you're 40 or above, please don't wait for symptoms.
Talk to your doctor about the cancer screenings appropriate for your age, s*x and family history.

👉🏿 Know your body.
👉🏿 Know your risks.
👉🏿 Get screened.
👉🏿 Early detection saves lives.

Don't assume “it can't happen to me.”

Your health is worth the check. ❤️

Chess in Education:

The Power of the Queen Sacrifice
At first glance, sacrificing the Queen appears to be a mistake. Yet, in the hands of a skilled player, it becomes a brilliant strategic decision leading to checkmate.
This is one of the greatest lessons chess teaches our children: Not every sacrifice is a loss. Sometimes, giving up something valuable today opens the door to a greater victory tomorrow.
Through Chess in Education, learners develop strategic thinking, delayed gratification, courage, and the confidence to make difficult decisions based on long-term goals rather than short-term gains.
The best move is not always the easiest, it is the wisest.

♟️ Why Chess Belongs in Every School
History teaches us where we came from. Chess teaches us how to think about where we are going.

When children learn chess, they develop critical thinking, concentration, memory, creativity, problem-solving, and responsible decision-making—skills that extend far beyond the chessboard into everyday life and academic success.

Education is not just about acquiring knowledge; it is about learning how to think. Chess helps achieve exactly that.

♟️ The Story Behind Chess
Every great move has a story.
What began centuries ago as a game of kings has become one of the world's greatest educational tools. Chess has travelled across civilizations, survived wars, inspired leaders, and today continues to shape young minds in classrooms around the globe.
Chess is more than a game—it is a timeless lesson in patience, planning, discipline, and decision-making.

To understand chess is to understand a part of human history.

Moremi High School Chess & Scrabble Club Receives Donation! ♟️📚

Yesterday was another memorable day for the Moremi High School Chess & Scrabble Club, Ile-Ife, as the 1998 Set Alumni generously donated chess sets and Scrabble boards to support the development of students.

On behalf of Raia Rooks Chess Academy, our Captain and Chess in Schools Instructor, Ayomide Adesina (aka "Bishop"), represented me at the school assembly, received the donation, and delivered a brief goodwill message to the students.

The excitement and enthusiasm of the students were truly inspiring. We sincerely appreciate the Moremi High School 1998 Set Alumni for investing in the future of young minds through chess and Scrabble.

Together, we are empowering the next generation of thinkers.
