Meet *AKENROYE FULFILMENT*, also known as *Flexy*, the new *Director of Finance*.

Akenroye Fulfilment, born on the 4th of May, is a native of Okitipupa in Ondo State though he spent his childhood in Ogun State. He attended *Faithful International School* for his primary education and *Kwara Football Academy* for his secondary education, graduating in 2020. In 2021 he gained admission to the *University of Ilorin* to study Human Kinetics Education in our department.

Before being elected Director of Finance for the 2025/2026 session, he served as a class captain and time‑keeper during his secondary‑school days.

Meet *AJIBOWU TAIWO BLESSING* , popularly known as _Taiwo_ , the new *NAPHER-SD President.*

*Ajibowu Taiwo Blessing,* born on the *21st of May,* is a native of *Isua-Akoko* in *Ondo State,* where he was born and raised. He attended *Local Authority (L.A.) School 2* for his primary education and completed his secondary education at *Isua High School,* both in Isua-Akoko.

In 2021, he gained admission into the prestigious *University of Ilorin* to study *Human Kinetics Education* and since then, he has remained an active and dedicated member of the department.

Having a strong passion for service and leadership, he began his leadership journey in secondary school, where he served as the *Senior Prefect Boy* and his leadership journey continued in the university as he served as the *NAPHER-SD Sports Director* for the just-concluded *2024/2025 academic session* where he and the other executives organized the first departmental Inter-House Sports before he took the mantle of leadership as the Departmental President for the 2025/2026 academic session.

Aside schooling, TAIWO is also into Aluminum fabrication, Liquified petroleum Gas refiling and accessories sales.

National Bronze Medalist 🥉

Ruqqayah Kemi Mustapha, A student of the department of human Kinetics, Faculty of Education, University of Ilorin.

Finishes 3rd to round out the podium in the women's Discus throw with a mark of 40.95m at the AFN National Championships.
Ruqqayah who won Gold in Discus throw and Silver in Javelin throw for University of Ilorin at last year All Africa university games in Lagos.

400-Level Human Kinetics Students Showcase Sporting Competence at University of Ilorin

The 400-level students of Human Kinetics Education at the University of Ilorin have continued to demonstrate their proficiency in organizing and officiating sporting events.

On Wednesday, January 22, the students successfully organized another phase of their athletics event, showcasing professionalism and building their career prospects under the guidance of Dr. Mrs. R. O. Dauda.

The event, held at the University of Ilorin's main bowl, commenced promptly at 9:00 a.m. and lasted for two hours. Participants were divided into three groups: organizers, officiating officials, and athletes.

The athletics event adhered strictly to international standards, reflecting the students' high level of competence and dedication to excellence.

Another sporting event is scheduled to take place later this week. Stay tuned for updates.

The Fast-Paced World of Table Tennis

Played on a rectangular table with small rackets and a lightweight ball, it is a popular recreational activity and competitive sport enjoyed by millions worldwide.

Brief History of Table Tennis
Table tennis originated in England in the late 19th century as a parlour game played by the upper class. The game gained popularity in the early 20th century, and the first official world championship was held in 1926. Today, table tennis is an Olympic sport, with men's and women's singles and team events.

400-Level Human Kinetics Students of UNILORIN Organize Intramural Athletics Event.

On Tuesday, January 13th, 2024, 400-level students of Human Kinetics Education at the University of Ilorin successfully organized an impressive intramural athletics event.

The students meticulously divided themselves into various roles, emulating an international competition. These roles included organizers, media personnel, medical staff, officials, and, of course, the athletes themselves.

The event featured 100-meter and 400-meter sprints for both male and female participants. The competition showcased a high level of athleticism and talent among the students.

Dr. Mrs. R. O. Dauda, the lecturer in charge and fondly known as "Coach Mummy," commended the students on their initiative and ex*****on of the event.

She emphasized that this practical experience allowed them to apply their theoretical knowledge of athletics.
"I observed some raw talent here, potential future athletes," Dr. Dauda remarked, encouraging the students to continue pursuing their passion for sports.

The event was a resounding success, leaving the students eager to organize more such events in the future.

*The Voice of Nigeria Association of Physical and Health Education Recreation Sport and Dance(VOICE OF NAPHER )*

*Freshers' Orientation for the 2024/2025 Academic Year*

The Freshers' Orientation for the 2024/2025 Academic Session commenced yesterday, December 3, 2024, at 12:49 PM at the Sports Unit.

The event began with an opening prayer, followed by the recitation of the National Anthem and the school anthem, led by Alabede Babatunde Samuel, also known as Big Sam. Following this, Alabede Babatunde Samuel introduced the lecturers.

The event was honored by the presence of several distinguished professors and lecturers from the Department of Human Kinetics Education, including Professor Dominic, Professor Ibrahim, Dr. Mrs. M.T Ajadi (the Head of the Department), Dr. Adeoye (the level adviser for the freshers), and Dr. Ibrahim. Additionally, some faculty executives were present, including the NUESA President (Fresh), the Vice President (Amope), the Faculty Sport Director (Agboola), the APESA President, the Speaker of the Faculty (Hon. Eric), and Hon. Elizabeth (Cardio).

Departmental executives in attendance included the NAPHER-SD Executive President (Emogehene Prosper), the Director General (Alabede Samuel Babatunde), the Librarian (Folajin Princess), the Speaker of the Department (Akintola Theophilus), the Financial Secretary of the Department (Emmanuel Iyiola), and the Social Director (Atta Iyanoluwa).

The opening remarks were delivered by the HOD, Professor Ajadi, followed by a welcome address from the President and the introduction of the NAPHER-SD executives.

The first speaker, Professor Dominic, delivered an inspiring speech on the importance of diligence, discipline, persistence, and career opportunities in Human Kinetics, such as becoming a coach or an aerobic instructor.

The second speaker, Dr. Adebayo, addressed the importance of character, personality, and values, emphasizing the need to adjust and survive in the academic environment.

The third speaker, Mr. Adeoye, discussed career prospects in Human Kinetics. This was followed by a session on how to calculate CGPA, conducted by Rt. Hon. Eric.

The program continued with the finale of the Oratory Contest. After the contest, Professor Ibrahim provided advice on coping strategies and the importance of seriousness in studies.

Finally, Speaker Eric addressed the freshers and anchored a giveaway session, with participation from former VP NAPHER-SD Islamiyyah, Hon. Eric, NAPHER-SD President Soft, and Hon. Cardio.

The event wrapped up with Emmanuel Iyiola, the financial secretary, delivering closing remarks and a prayer. It was followed by a group photo session that brought the program to a close at 3.

*SPORT ICON OF THE WEEK* *Ambassador Coach Korede Promotes Fitness and Education Beyond Borders*

In a distinguished career spanning from grassroots football to national coordination roles, Akorede Kehinde Monsuru, widely known as Ambassador Coach Korede, has carved a niche for himself as a beacon of sports and fitness advocacy in Nigeria.

A graduate of Human Kinetic Education University of Ilorin, Ambassador Coach Korede's journey began as the Captain of Kwara State National Sports Festival Football Team EKO 2012, he proceeded to University of Ilorin where he captained the school football team for nearly three years and represented the institution in various prestigious tournaments such as NUGA and WAUG. His dedication to sports and fitness was further honed during his tenure as the Nuesa Sports Director 2016/2017, where he spearheaded initiatives to promote athletics among students.

Transitioning seamlessly from player to coach, Korede has since become a pivotal figure in the Nigerian football scene. He currently serves as the CEO of Exercise is Medicine, a pioneering initiative aimed at integrating fitness into everyday life. Additionally, as the Chief fitness and wellness instructor at Al-Hikmah University Gym Center and a Fitness Consultant, he continues to impact lives through his expertise.

His credentials extend beyond coaching and fitness instruction; Korede is also the Nationwide League One (NFF) Coordinator and Technical Adviser at Kishi Football Academy, roles that underscore his commitment to nurturing young talents and fostering sports development nationwide.

Reflecting on his journey, Ambassador Coach Korede emphasizes the importance of practical education in Human Kinetic Education, urging students to explore diverse career paths beyond traditional teaching roles. His accolades, including being named SU Sportsman of the Year and receiving multiple awards for his athletic prowess, highlight his exemplary contributions to sports and education.

As he continues to inspire and lead by example, Ambassador Coach Korede remains steadfast in his mission to promote the transformative power of fitness and sports education across communities. His dedication serves as a testament to the limitless possibilities within the realm of Human Kinetic Education and beyond.

Words of advice "HKE students should know and understand that the department is beyond being a school teacher, they must be very active in practical classes as they do during theory class and think of what to do and specialize on after school, either teaching, coaching, administrative aspect, fitness and so on.
