‼️💥BREAKING: The Premier League has confirmed that an independent Commission has found Manchester City guilty of all charges relating to serious breaches of the League’s financial rules over a nine-season period, as well as the majority of charges concerning the club’s failure to cooperate with the League’s investigation.
Manchester City have the right to appeal the Commission’s findings and have until Friday, October 2 to do so.
The Premier League Board intends for the full process, including any appeals and the publication of relevant decisions, to be concluded as soon as possible.
The independent Commission found that between the 2009/10 and 2017/18 seasons:
• Manchester City arranged “sham” contracts with several commercial partners, misrepresenting the true agreements in order to artificially inflate revenues and reduce costs.
• The club filed misstated accounts and concealed the true state of its finances from auditors and football regulators.
• Manchester City were found to have significantly breached both the Premier League’s and UEFA’s spending limits.
• During the Premier League’s investigation, Manchester City committed multiple breaches of its duties to cooperate and act in utmost good faith. Three of the four alleged breaches were upheld.
