Love is a decision and choice that we must make to also enjoy it in time of need. In the world today, love has been misrepresented by various kinds of lust.
True love is patient, is kind, promotes others, is not boastful, and is not proud. Anything parading itself as love that lacks any of the above qualities is not love.
If we claim we love the brethren and our actions lack the qualities of love, we are hypocrites.
Also, when we show love to the brethren, we should not expect them to pay us back but rather expect the reward from our Lord Jesus Christ.
Finally, we should come to the point where we show love to others because it is good to love and not because we will be rewarded in the end.
