Be very intentional about your life. Be very careful about what, who and where you devote your time, energy, and emotions.
Especially your time. Guard your time jealousy. Money is nothing, money is cheap compared to time. People waste hours and hours daily on rubbish.
Don't do that. Don't do things 'just for pleasure'. Don't do things just to occupy time, and certainly don't do things just because everyone around you is doing them.
Why do things just for pleasure? What are you? A 2 year old? Only kids and nihilists do things just for pleasure, Let meaning and purpose guide your actions, not pleasure.
Don't do things just to occupy time. If you are doing things just to occupy time it means that your life has no purpose, you have no clearly defined goal(s) you are working towards.
You are just cruising, taking the day as it comes. Which simply means that you are just wasting your life. You aren't living, you are just existing.
Find a purpose, find a goal to work towards, draft out a plan and break it down so you can execute on this plan on a day to day basis. Don't live like an animal that wakes up, eats, sh*ts and goes to bed waiting till the day it dies.
Don't waste the life you have been given. Find a purpose and work towards it. Don't do things just to occupy time.
Don't do things just because everyone is doing them, unless that thing aligns with your overarching purpose and goal. You are an individual, a unique individual. Don't turn yourself into an ant. Ants aren't unique, they look same and do same thing.
Humans we are social creatures, so we easily imitate what those around us are doing. That is why you must surround yourself with people whose goal, ambition and purpose matches yours.
Like minds to you. So that if one day you must do one or two that those around you are doing, it will still be something that aligns with your purpose. You want to build a multi-billion company and you are always hanging out with area boys? You are joking, you aren't serious yet.
Be intentional, in every decision, every plan, every move you make in life. Don't be a joker, life is not a joke.
