The Nigeria American Football Association (NAFA) has been approved by the Board of as an Associate Member of the International Federation of American Football (IFAF), making Nigeria the fourth African country to achieve this status.

This follows a landmark year, with both men’s and women’s national teams .ng winning gold at the IFAF Africa Flag Football Continental Championships and qualifying for the 2026 World Championships.

NAFA’s initiatives promote gender equality and youth empowerment, aiming to reach 150,000 girls by 2030. Major events like the and highlight growing youth engagement, with tackle football set to return in 2025.

linebacker and .ng Team Nigeria’s GM, has been nominated for the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award, the highest honor for community impact and leadership.

NAFA stands in solidarity with the families of those who lost their lives in the tragic shooting at the NFL Office Building.

We strongly condemn this act of violence. The pain caused by this tragedy affects a broader community one that values safety, dignity, and the sanctity of life.

NAFA echoes the sentiments shared by President Pierre Trochet and joins the global football family in mourning and remains committed to promoting the values of respect, discipline, and care for all involved in the sport.
