Tinubu sends message to new CAN President, Okoh

The Presidential Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, has congratulated Archbishop Daniel Okoh, General Superintendent of Christ Holy Church (Odozi-Obodo), on his election as the President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN).

Tinubu’s congratulatory message was contained in a statement by his Media Office and signed by Mr. Tunde Rahman.

Recall that CAN had on Thursday formally validated the election of Okoh as its new President.

The former Lagos State governor said: “I congratulate Rev. Okoh on his election as the new President of CAN. Rev. Okoh has truly distinguished himself as the deputy to Rev. Ayokunle.”

Tinubu added, “As a nation, we are in a crit!cal moment where misguided and terr!ble actors attempt to de$troy social harmony and reign vawulence on us all.

“These awful forces seek to stoke religious and ethnic divisions in the hope of pitting Nigerian brother against Nigerian brother. Decent and good Nigerians of all faiths must ally again with such designs.

“As Rev. Okoh assumes the mantle of leadership, it is my hope and prayer that his tenure brightens every corner of our country and may he be a shining light to all.”

Kidn"ppers of Nollywood actors demand $100, 000 ransom

The kidn"ppers who abdu¢ted Nollywood actors, Cynthia Okereke and Clemson Cornel, aka Agbogidi, while they were returning from a movie set at Ozalla town in Enugu state have reached out to their families, demanding a ransom of $100, 000.

The actors were reported missing after their family members confirmed they didn’t return home from the movie set on Thursday, July 28.

In a new development, the President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria AGN. Emeka Rollas, said the abductors of the actors have contacted their families and are demanding the lump sum in dollars. Mr Rollas said the guild is working with the security agents while still hoping for God's intervention to rescue the actors unhurt.

He also disclosed that the kidn"ppers have cleared out the account of actress Cynthia Okereke after the abdu¢tion.
