Winning in challenging period requires hard work. Every professional has a plan, removing the fads and formula you get down to two basic requirements.
* Strategy
* A winning Spirit
These two concepts together the creeds of an unbeatable team. You need strategy which must be carefully thought through and all those who work with you must understand it. But strategy is not enough, your strategy must be accompanied and driven by a winning spirit. You and your team must be determined to win. They must be willing to do whatever it takes to win positively. They must work hard, move fast, adapt when it’s necessary and keep going when the going gets really tough.
Strategy demands thoughtfulness or lets just call it thinking skills, yeah thinking is skill. Fostering a competitive spirit demands people skills. Put the two together and you have an unbeatable team.
I know plenty of top executives who are proud of their ability to shape strategy. But when it gets to firing up the spirit of their people, they are helpless. They are their own worst enemies because strategy without a winning spirit to put through will amount to just a plan on paper.
