There are usually some 'low-hanging fruits' (quick wins) to successfully planning corporate events, and maintaining client satisfaction.
We focus on these two: Identify the pain points, and pay attention to details.
Identify what the major areas of concern for your client are. When you are able to highlight the sources of fear, concern, or challenge your client has over their upcoming event, you as the Event Consultant can then channel your focus into ensuring those salient areas are well managed, while making sure every other area of planning is also on point.
Paying attention to the details given in the brief is very important to how excellently executed an event would be, especially for corporate events. Always refer to the brief and don't make assumptions on behalf of your client, without approval. As planning unfolds and the day draws nearer, client may become more focused on the core event objectives from the perspective of management. So, continue to verify details of items that are not at the fore of your discussions, so that nothing is lost in translation. This is because some details change as day draws near, for instance, panel speakers can be shuffled, number of break out sessions may increase, etc. Have the mindset that you (not your client) have the responsibility to stay updated, on any changes to the event plan.
Corporate clients may have very few needs but those needs are usually very weighty. Never forget that.
