The NFL spent millions on security. One man in a pink swimsuit outsmarted all of it and turned $50,000 into $374,000 with a single sprint.
During Super Bowl a man placed roughly $50,000 in prop bets across multiple accounts that a fan would run onto the field during the game. The odds were generous because sportsbooks assumed no one would actually do it. He then put on a pink swimsuit, sprinted across the field on live television, and triggered the payout himself.
The stunt reportedly earned him around $374,000. He was arrested shortly after for trespassing and faced a misdemeanor charge with a fine of approximately $1,000. After the fine, his estimated net profit sat around $323,000 for less than a minute of running.
Sportsbooks later adjusted their policies on streaker prop bets. The incident remains one of the wildest self-fulfilling wagers in sports betting history.
