On Christmas Eve, known as "Fandroana," families gather for a special meal that includes dishes like "ravitoto" (pork with cassava leaves).
The blend of traditional hymns, accompanied by local instruments, fills the air with a spirit of reverence and celebration.
Children eagerly await the arrival of "Dadabe Noely" (Father Christmas), who brings joy and small gifts.

Traditional dishes such as "fufu" (a starchy side made from cassava) and "alloco" (fried plantain) are enjoyed alongside special holiday foods like chicken and fish, often accompanied by "attieke" (fermented cassava couscous) or "riz gras" (flavoured rice).

Some popular Christmas foods in Tunisia include "bouchees a la reine," puff pastry tarts filled with creamy chicken and mushroom sauce, and Tunisian couscous, a hearty stew made with lamb, vegetables, and aromatic spices. One significant tradition is the lighting of candles on Christmas Eve, symbolizing the triumph of light over darkness.
