A Renewed Hope of a Nigerian Nation indeed.
I write with a heavy heart, filled with grief and concern for our beloved nation, Nigeria.
At the age of 65, we find ourselves still grappling with the ever-increasing costs and relentless hikes in various aspects of our lives. It seems that we are constantly faced with the need for readjustments, panel-beating, redesigning, and soul-searching due to the poor and erroneous leadership that has plagued our great nation for far too long.
Throughout our history, we have witnessed a mixed-grilled of leaders and masters. While some leaders have diligently built the foundations of progress and development, others have been destructive forces that have hindered our growth. Regrettably, this is why we find ourselves in the precarious state we are in today. The ultimate victims of this elitist and never-ending political tussle are people like You and I, the poor and hopeless vulnerable masses.
Now more than ever, we are in dire need of leaders who possess humility, selflessness, progressiveness, and a clear vision for our nation's future. We need individuals who are genuinely committed to lifting Nigeria out of its current state of despair. We must strive for leaders who rise above being mere masters, lords, and looters, and instead embody the true essence of servant leadership.
While the role of the President is undeniably significant within our political landscape, it is essential to understand that a single individual alone cannot bear the burden of transforming our nation. It is a collective responsibility that requires the active involvement and commitment of all stakeholders, from the highest office to the grassroots level. We must nurture a culture of transparency, accountability, and inclusivity, ensuring that the voices of the common man are being heard and heeded to.
As we celebrate the anniversary of our Independence, let us not lose sight of the challenges lying before us. Instead of blindly rejoicing in the independence we have never truly experienced, let us continue to demand answers. Let us hold our leaders accountable for their actions and decisions. Let us channel our grievances into constructive dialogue and strive for meaningful and lasting change.
Despite the prevailing darkness, I am filled with hope. I believe that together, we can steer Nigeria towards a brighter future, a future where our citizens are no longer held in bo***ge but can enjoy the fruits of a truly independent nation.
Happy Independence Anniversary, Nigeria.
With sincere regards,
Aliu Haidar Zaifada
