CITY BOARD GAMES 2.0 WEEK!!

We are set for the 2nd edition of the biggest board games fiesta in Southeast Nigeria.

Onitsha City Board Games is duly registered with Nigerian Chess Federation and Nigerian Scrabble Federation. Our tournament is also FIDE-rated and approved.

The only three names, so far, on our Elite League of Board Games Heroes roster.

Remark their faces. Say their names out loud. Give them the respect due to them.

These three made history by becoming the first ever to win their respective titles during the maiden edition of the Onitsha City Board Games Tournament.

Can they defend their respective titles successfully? Will we have more people joining them on the roster?

These questions will be answered come November 12th, 2022.

You definitely cannot to miss the epoch-making event.

For this year's edition of the tournament, we decided to make it a week-long event.

..and we've got interesting plans.

Sunday, 6th of November is our Board Games Fiesta for adults (Board Games and Chill)... a hangout that is open to the general public regardless of age.

Last year, we had a lot of people asking us if adults were allowed, and we had to explain that the tournament was for kids aged 10 to 16.

So, this year, we decided we would feature a hangout for the general public. We all get to meet at a set venue, interact with each other, battle it out on the board, and also chill.

That's exactly what we will be doing come November 6.

Monday 7th to Friday 11th, will feature the tournament properly. 240 students from over 30 schools will get to battle it out for the 4 titles available.

The award ceremony, crowning, and induction of our winners into our elite league of Board Games Heroes, will take place on Saturday the 12th of November.

Our finalists at the maiden edition of the Onitsha City Board Games Tournament last year.

These students showed exceptional brilliance and grit, beating more than 12 other students each to advance to this very level of the game.

We had more than 80 participants from over 20 schools compete for the event, with a 3000+ reach.

It was massive, and we're grateful for the resounding success, and the sponsors who caught our vision.

This year, we are expecting nothing less than 240 students from more than 70 schools. So, our finalists would have to beat at least 70 others to make it to the round of champions. That's not an enviable position to be, but it will be fun to watch and cheer them on. We hope to see some of these faces battle it out once again at the finals.

City Board Games 2.0 will be a week long program lasting from the 6th to the 12th of November 2022.

This year, we added an extra category, bringing it to a total of 4 - Chess, Scrabble, Ncho, and Monopoly.
