SECURITY ALERT: Fresh Gunfire Reported Along Bauchi Road, Jos
Tension is rising again in Jos as reports confirm renewed clashes and sporadic gunfire along the Bauchi Road axis in Jos North, Plateau State.
Residents are strongly advised to stay alert, restrict movement, and immediately report any suspicious activity to security agencies. Authorities have begun deploying reinforcement teams to contain the situation and prevent further escalation.
This development comes just days after the tragic attack on Angwan Rukuba, where many lives were lost — an incident that led to a curfew and increased security presence across the city.
Security forces, including the police and military, are intensifying patrols in key areas to restore calm and protect residents.

Reflecting on the Legacy of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu
Fourteen years have passed since the burial of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, the iconic leader who left an indelible mark on Nigerian history. As we remember his life and legacy, it's impossible not to revisit the tumultuous times that shaped his decisions and ultimately, the course of the nation.
Ojukwu's efforts to address the brutal killings of Easterners in Northern Nigeria led him to collaborate with Gowon in Aburi, Ghana, seeking a united solution to the crisis. Sadly, the agreed-upon path was abandoned, and the violence persisted. In response, Ojukwu drew a line, declaring Biafra a safe haven for his people, driven by a desire for protection, freedom, and peace.
The legacy of Biafra has become synonymous with resilience and the pursuit of a better future. The ideals Ojukwu stood for – protection, freedom, and advancement – remain relevant today. As we honor his memory, we're reminded that the society he envisioned, one where light overcomes darkness, will continue to inspire generations to come.
