We live in an age where love is reduced to slogans and lyrics like “Na who love me I go love.”
And with that mindset, responsibility for others quietly disappears.
One quiet truth of our time is this:
many people have dropped the burden of care.
When I was younger, the world felt kinder.
People went out of their way to think beyond themselves.
Neighbors mattered. Community mattered.
Care wasn’t a performance, it was a posture.
Today, economic pressure, survival mode, and exhaustion have taught many of us to turn inward.
We give more to ourselves and less to others, not always because we are wicked, but because we are weary.
And no, you cannot help everybody. I know I can’t.
But the burden of care was never about saving the whole world.
It is about outlook.
When you carry the burden of care, it governs how you see life.
It teaches you that reaching out, blessing people, checking in, giving, is not something you do when it is convenient,
but a way of life.
So this week, care, deliberately.
Ask how people are really doing.
Check on your friends.
Call your siblings.
Pay attention to your family.
Even reach out to someone you don’t know well.
Because if love is going to be more than a conversation, especially in this so-called month of love, then it must first be practiced.
Do it often.
Do it consistently.
Until care becomes culture.
Until love becomes instinct.
Carry the burden.
It will shape your week.
Your week is already blessed,
Enjoy.
